it just depends of your amp but his original settings are:
bass: 1
mid: 5
treble: 6
gain: 6
he also uses a little trick; he puts his volume all the way open, and uses his gain for volume, you should try it volume 10 and if you dont want to play that loud, you just use less gain, it gives a crunchy overdriven sound

questions everywhere, wheres the bloody answers?

Websites like this one are so frustrating and are one of many that seem to waist time just visiting. I can see a million questions here but where the hell are the answers to Angus' amp settings??

Re: Angus's amp control settings

Angus has no gain control on his amps. In the studio he uses a Marshall JTM-45. For live performances he plugs into four Marshall 1959SLPs. Sometimes he'll use an old Marshall JTM-45 mic'd under the stage for live performances. He plugs into the high treble input (top left.)

Presence: 2-3
Bass: 4-5
Middle: 5
Treble: 5-7
Volume 1 (studio): 4-7
Volume 1 (live): 6-10

For amps with gain contols keep it low. Put the gain at about 2 for his studio sound. Put the gain in between 3 and 7 for live sounds. No countour!

Hope this helps.
