he doesn't use 13 guage, i dunno where u got that from.
he uses .009 - .046 and .009 - .050 guages. the heavy chunk sound in the riffs is because he uses custom Randall WarHeads, custom Humbuckers, and an orchestra of effects.
...besides the fact that the bends and squeels in the music would never sound as good as they do with 13 guage.
