No I beleive Metallica is one of the greastest metal bands of all time, all there albums are good from kill em all to load to st anger. Metallica can do watever they want with there music, it seems that some people believe that they own the band and in doing so they must create the sort of music they want, hows that gonna fucking work???? Kirk Hammet is a good guitarist, a common downstroker wont be able to play his solos, but on the other hand he is not the best. If u think he is the best, listen and watch yngwie malmsteen, Michael angelo or franceso fareri. The reason he changed his style is because he was tired of the stuff he was doing and wanted to do something he wanted to do.

All great metallica songs include solos by Kirk and those songs are by my opinon the best songs too... like master of puppets, nothing else matters, wherever i may roam and on...
