Following on from the successful release of her debut
album of songs "Diving for Pearls" (described by
MUSIC WEEK as "really exceptional") Scottish-based
folk artist and acoustic guitarist Allie Fox will be
releasing a purely instrumental guitar album in late
2003, featuring an eclectic mix of original guitar tunes
and classic blues covers. An accompanying book of
guitar tab is planned. Special guest guitarists joining
Allie in the studio will be Fish (Marillion) lead guitarist
Frank Usher and Neil Warden, who performs with
blues supremo Tam White. Allie's guitar style owes
much to her early influences: John Fahey, Leo Kottke,
Grossman, Renbourn & Jansch, and is an interesting
mixture of Celtic and American ingredients. The British
folk magazine "Folk Roots" rates her highly:
"meticulous guitar work" and you can find out more
