Original Rock Music recording artists

Tired of cover bands. Long Island band members have played with some famous people over the years. Newly formed band ROCKS the music industry. Currently recording their new CD, FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND.

Gery Dangelo- Lead Guitarist of Sound Proof

Born in Brooklyn. In the 70's cut his teeth by walking in to other bands jam and practice sessions and blowing them away with his creative quick guitar work. Played with the likes of Gary Ingber - Blues guitarist who plays with The Jukehouse Four and jamming with Warren Cuccurullo who went on to play with Frank Zappa, Duran Duran and Missing Persons. Gery's music career began in the early 70's playing in local lounges and clubs and later with warm-up bands for headliners at concert and theater events. Gery currently lives in Long Island with his wife and children where he creates music at a local studio with his fellow band members. Say's Gery "I've never been more satisfied with my music since I began jamming with John, keyboard player, song writer and Sound Proof band mate.

John Digiuseppe - Keyboards and Guitar-

Born in Brooklyn, grew up in Queens NY and moved to Long Island to raise a family. Took formal music lessons for several years in his early teens. Played organ/synthesizers/guitar in several copy bands then moved onto doing only original material. During his college years, he teamed up with a jazz bassist and a jazz/fusion/classical guitarist (who was a music major graduate of C.W.Post and Berkeley) and worked on original material and light covers. John has spent the last 3 years in a local group playing cover music and left the band for personal reasons and to concentrate all his efforts to creating original music with other musicians. He has been recording at a local studio and is using midi/digital technology to record with his fellow Sound Proof band mates. Says John, "When composing, Gery D'Angelo (an amazing guitarist) seems to read my mind and knows exactly what to do in every song we work on." "Jim is the ultimate power drummer who's style can only be defined as 'WO W'."

Jim McGowan - Drummer

Born and raised in Queens NY and , most recently, living on Long Island with his wife and children. Jim has been playing drums for over 35 years, starting with John in the early 70's in the "required" garage band, but quickly moving on to local clubs and concerts. Jim's early style was on the order of "trying to hit every drum at once", a la Keith Moon (The Who). He still commands that kind of power found in classic rock, but he has also matured over the years and has sought to bring a true sense of creativity and innovation to percussion. His resume includes several copy bands as well as original material. His most recent activity has been a Long Island based classic rock covers band which he has left to pursue original musical interests. "The ideas coming from John and Gery have completely knocked me off of my seat. Sound Proof provides me with the opportunity to create new music with phenomenal musicians" says Jim.

Coreen Nelson-Amato - Vocals

Born in Portland, Maine (nope, not from NY) the child of Protestant ministers. Music was a part of everyday life in the Nelson home where mom played piano and Dad played the trumpet and sang. Her father was also into theatre and acting and it wasn't long before that bug caught Corene as well. By the time she was 13 her parents had moved to Long Island and at the tender age of 17, right after her graduation, Corene packed her bags and headed to Manhattan to attend the American Musical and Dramatic academy. To her credit she has community theatre as well as Off-Broadway experience. After her time at AMDA she sought to gain more knowledge of music...to be more than a singer...more of a musician...and to find her true voice. It is at Five Towns College where this happened. While a student a FTC she played jazz gigs with her professors as well as sang in the cover band 'The Zoo'. She was also a session singer for Bayside Sound studios and the student director for the colleges!
production of' "Godspell'. Her musical training was diverse but that is what she would draw on in her writing. She graduated in 1994 with her Bachelor's in Music Education. After years of cover bands Corene is looking forward to getting back to original music and finding her voice again.
Says Corene: " I have known Gery for a few years and I always knew he was a musician, but
when I sat in the studio and heard him play I was blown away. I am very excited about this project and all the talent that it is bringing together."
Corene is currently living on Long Island with her daughter, future superstar, Lorelei.
