Formed in 1963, The Others still have an edge, they still have passion for their craft. New album out May 2004, "Hit the Wall" shows a band maintaining an intensity that many lose over time. Cutting edge, well crafted guitar driven blues/rock the way it was meant to be. Don't believe me? Here's a quote from a review of The Others at 2004's Byron Bay Blues & Roots festival from Australian muisc industry legend Glenn A Baker:
"Jammed tight and sweating hard, the fevered throng inside the Juke
Joint at the East Coast Blues Festival let The Others know that it
was well worth their long road haul up from Adelaide. Like the
Stones, whose record of longevity they share, these r&b titans
thrive in an environment of immediate contact, feeding off the energy
and driving it upwards with hot, hard, stinging licks and a blues
sensibility born out of an implicit understanding of the music's
essentials. After more than 40 years at the coalface they are the
masters who inspire the apprentices."

The Others - sooo good
The Others are truly Oz music legends, and getting better all the time. New singer is the best male vocalist I've heard in decades. Album Hit the Wall should go down as a masterpiece of blues/rock.
new fave band!
Since I saw these guys at Byron bay this year I am raving to all my friends that Aus music is not dead boring any more - The Others are here! For mine, the perfect band in every way, great songs, great attitude and the best live act I've seen in years! Good luck!
