you didn't post an email address and you might not come back to this board, so this might be a worthless post to put up here--
but--
it's a year later and i have reasons for wanting to talk to you. if you see this, write me.
and i would think if you are Jim's offspring, you probably ought to meet Cliff at some point, too. You two would be half siblings, and that might reveal some important things both of you should know in a lifetime. That, and all these people screaming about DNA testing have a valid point, which would be shown if you and cliff would have your DNA compared.
And then there's the aspect of Jim's parents in Coronado/San diego, who would be your paternal grandparents. They ought to know, and you ought to, to. Just because your father broke the chain of family communication doesn't mean you have to. Parents do stupid things they think are cool or defiant when they're young assholes, which in later life (if they live that long) they come to see for the mistakes that they were. When they reach that stage of life, they turn around and go back and see what they can make up, make right, if there's still time to do it. If Cliff is your half brother, if the Morrisons are your grandparents, then you have family you deserve to meet and bee embraced by.Cliff has a daughter in Hawaii, who would be Jim's granddaghter and your neice. The family resemblance is definitely there. Jim's sister Anne and brother Andy would be your aunt and uncle.they aren't Jim, but they are your relatives, and you deserve to meet and know them. Like kids adopted away, like orphans who didn't know where they came from, you have an entire side of your heritage you deserve to be reunited with, not only for you, but for any children that you may bring into the world, so that they have a context and an unbroken line. Not to mention what doctors are going to want to know genetically about predisposition to diseases, allergies, reactions, incompatibilities to treatment, potentially lifethreatening conditions and everything they want to gather about family medical history to provide the most responsible care. What your mother took with her to the grave is not the end of it. You have a whole family you ought to go and talk to, to gather what she concealed from you- and from herself-, and if i were you, I'd do it while you still can. Dread not. They are just people.Your grandchildren and their grandchildren will appreciate that you did it.
oh- and by the way?- the Morrison Clan holds an ancestral castle in Scotland on the Isle of Lewis. You should go. You have a birthright to it. And so does Cliff.
