The question of whether this guy is Jim Morrison's son is kinda mute, although I really, really hope he isn't. The question is whether he has talent, which, judging from "Know Peaking", he clearly doesn't. Or at least not much.
He sounds more like Val Kilmer doing his bad imitation of Jim Morrison than Morrison himself. There are some good moments on the album, but mostly it's just laughable. "August Moon" is a good song. "Pick Up and Go" is pretty good. "Technology" is amusing, as we see Cliff's naive and retarded comments on the growth of technology over the decades. One can picture him with a needle in his arm in some crackhouse musing over the technological advancement of the TV he is about to steal for another trip to the copspot. His attempts to take on Morrison's prophetic quality are humorous at best: "Free the land/free the sand/the government is a crime." Uhhhuuhh. He needs to stop banging that s**t and realize he's no artist, Morrison's son or not. And I'm convinced he's not. If it turns out he is when they cut him loose, we should all have a National Morrison Mourning Day that this is Jim's spawn. The album is worth buying as a cabaret/drugged out/imitation Doors record. Hey, there aren't many of them around.
What a disappointment.
