      I ordered a 63 g-rb reproduction guitar.Which required a $50.00 deposit with balance due when guitar was ready to ship. Recived email notice that due to the demand, shipment of the guitar would be later. Received email notice of payment of $249.00 to ship the guitar was due. When tried to pay it by paypal, the payment could not be sent. Paypal window stated that payment request was canceled. Tried to contact someone by phone, but phone numbers didn’t work, one disconnected, one was a recording that they were out of town. Can you help me? I don’t want to loose my $50.00 that is holding this guitar, yet I can’t seem to get thru to anyone on when the guitar is going to be ready to ship?

    allright I broke down and got one classic gold nicer then the original and good tone interesting so far i’ll post again when ie got to play it a bit more: Someone who played it at NAMM said it is better constructed than the original or the 90’s reissue. In the pictures I’ve seen, the old wood bridge has been replaced with something that looks like a standard Duncan bridge.

  10. Danelectro Hodad schematics wiring needed, model HD-3000

    Hi I have a Hodad with two tone and two volume knobs and my neck pickup doesn’t seem to respond, I think a wire is not connected after looking under the backplate. Can someone please please give me a proper wiring schematic or proper wiring operation to fix this please? my email is [email protected] Thanks!

  13. guitar neck warped on new u2 danelectro

    I have a new rose colored danelectro u2 guitar and I have only played it for a couple of months and the neck has gotten so warped that it can not be tuned or fixed according to the local music shop. The guitar is mint, and i really like playing it, all the replacent necks are almost as much as i payed for the guitar, or at least with the price they want me to pay for the new neck I could hae gotten a much more expensive guitar. I have two questions, does danelectro replace the necks, because I can not find a # anywhere for them, or is there any other replacement necks that are of the same messurements as the u2 that would be cheaper. Anything would help

      Danoguitars.com sells new necks.. for about 125.00 The reason you cant find a number for Danelectro is becuase the no longer make guitars. 99% sure of it anyway. I too need a new neck for a 56 U3..(cheaper than re fretting) .. but I’m waiting to hear from them to tell me if they have that neck in stock.

        Check out thier website. Looks like they started making guitars again, but only one model – the 56Pro.

  17. dm-25 head spring reverb

    anyone have a dm-25 head that might be able to supply me with a schematic or perhaps even a photo of how the spring reverb tank is wired up? i just bought one and love the tone… tremolo works great, but reverb does not work. i opened the tank & saw that all the spring and all the wires are there, but the soulder has broken loose on the wires. there are only 4 of them, but i don’t know where each are supposed to go. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

      the schematic is out on the web. I found it a while back. I just got a DM 25 and the reverb was shot, but some seasoned engineer genius put it back together again. It has a weird crystal pickup for the spring. These pickups are not very hardy and have not seen widespread use since the 50s phonographs made the transition to newer things. Anyway, he salvaged some crystals from somewhere and it works. good luck

        I’ve heard that this run is only 300 guitars, and that made me start thinking about maybe they’re trying to inflate the value of the company a bit before offering it for sale. All this time and we’ve heard nothing but silence from Evets, and now this. Who knows? I do know this—They’re trying as hard as they can to shut down DanoGuitars.com, the one place out there that’s been there for we Dano freaks all this time. Don’t let them do this! Spencer at Danoguitars.com is probably the only reason the name is still recognizable to the public at all. If you need parts or help, he’s the guy to ask.

      Owner’s Name & Comments: [email protected] Purchased new in 1956 by "Daddy O" Tuffy in upstate NY, this is the legendary 2 piece, 4x6V6, 8×8" amp that some claim (or speculate!) is the type Little Walter regularly used on many classic recordings and on the road! Truth or legend, this Dano model dates back to 1952…An awesome looking and incredible sounding amp for harp!
      Tone: Based on the toneful rip/cut and warm horn-like effect from this amp, it is certainly possible that Walter used one of these rare amps to get his recognizable Chess sound – The One!
      Mic Preferred with this Amp: Shure Model 52 Dynamic chrome bullet through a 2-tone 50’s Premier reverb unit.

        don’t know dave? It is being looked at right now, I didn’t get any sound. light came on, tubes were glowing, but nothing?? Do you mind telling me what you gave for your amp?

    Man, I am so pissed off I never bought a Dano from Musician Friend when they were still making them. I always planned to, but never did. I did just buy an Innuendo on ebay. I think I may sell my Tele so I can buy one of the 12 strings or a U2 reissue. Can’t wait to try it out. A couple of guys are selling those old silvertones with the amp in the case – almost too cool. It is amazing that stuff that you almost thought of as junk and lame 20 years ago is now so desirable. I guess if I have a question it is this – how do the reissues compare to the originals? Also, I am amazed that with all the mojo and appeal of the Dano name that some other company hasn’t purchased it and starting putting out new versions of these wonderful, masonite treasures. In fact, I am thinking about going down to the lumber yard and buying some masonite and then buying a neck and some pickups and making my own version of a danelectro. My Best, DWC

  32. old style bridge out of new materials

    I’m wondering if anyone would be interested in the "popsicle" style bridge made out of, say aluminum, nickel, bone, ivory, etc. I’ve been messing around w/ Dan Armstrong bridges of the same type and it makes a huge difference in terms of sound. What you may lose in lack of perfect intonation (ala the new retrofit bridges), you definitely gain in sustain.

  37. Help!!! DC58 bridge troubles

    O.K., here’s the deal, see, i bought this DC58, and, well, it’s previous owners had been kind of thrifty on their repair jobs. The bridge has been sort of mickey-moused, the only thing that is keeping the bridge at a set hight is a crappy peice of balsa wood!
    the bridge itself is being held on by deck screws, the wooden nut at the bottom is out of place, all of these factors causing the guitar to be out of tune with itself. i need to know what to do!!!, where can i auire some spacing screws for the bridge, and what is the proper placement for the nut thingy? I really want to be able to play my guitar, so any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated. thanks

      Your best best is to replace it with a Danelectro SB-5800 adjustable bridge. The bridge will use the EXACT same mounting holes and you will noe be able to truly adjust and intonate the strings. Go to the parts page at http://www.DanoGuitars.com for this bridge. Hope this helps.

        For what it is worth: You can insert where the screws go threaded bushings available at any hardware store. Place the bridge in the correct posistion. Mark and drill the correct diameter hole for the bushings. Be carefull to drill as true too 90 deg as possible easily done with a drill press. Another hint: to sink the bushing place to nuts onto the screw only enough to thread the bushing. When the bushing snugs up against the nuts, the tension will drive the bushing in. Don’t use a screw driver the bushing are very soft. The end result is a very smooth adjustable bridge. Good luck let me know if this is any help. Tony

    recently i purchased a Danelectro Innuendo at a flea market for 30.00 the only problem is the guitar has none of the effects that shoud be built in it (reverb, distorstion, chorus, ect…) there is no wiring for it and no parts for them. If anyone has any parts or wiring dirgrams for my Innuendo that would be super cool if i could look at them or buy them off you t

  43. pickguard removal on DC59

    How do you remove the pickguard on a Dc59. I`ve loosened the holding screws but it appears to be stuck down, do the tone control knobs, jack input and pickup selector switch have to be taken off as well .

  48. danelectro Longhorn bass for trade

    I have a Longhorn bass from the early sixties.
    It’s kinda beat up (neck has been broken and reglued, repainted,…)
    But it plays and original parts, 95% complete.
    I have no idea of the value. Would somebody be intrested in a trade against a VOX bass in approx same condition (eventually with extra cash from my side)?
    Biggest problem is maybe that i live in Belgium
