Hi all!! I just purchased a twin reverb on ebay. i haven’t received it yet so i don’t know too many specifics. I’ts a blackface with pullout master volume. I know this is extremely wierd. It’s pre ’64 because it doesn’t have the white ethching around the bright switches. but the serial # is FI30805, I thought fenders had six digit serial #’s??? Also, the fender logo on the grilloe isn’t underlined. Could this thing really be authentic? PLEASE HELP!!!
:Why would you buy something without knowing what you have purchased. No pull out gain on 63’models, not even on a reissue. Every Idiot out there thinks they have a vintage or nos unit because you idiots believe them. Be smart, learn before you burn. I personaly don’t care for those units (with the pull out gain) but now that you own one, you can spend the money converting it to 66′ specs, if possible with the printed circuit board. I saw a 99" "closet classic" strat advertized today, you can get that for your "vintage 66" 1995 twin. Go to ampage.com, find fenderhaolic (something like that) or find the "Fender field guide" after you get your 66′ twin you can find out what you purchased. Good luck, don’t forget to pierce something and get another tatoo……….that will make you look smart!

I just purchased a 1989 model SRV Strat and am curious to know what the fretboard is made of. I saw an ad for a 1990 which said the fretboard was Brazillion Rosewood and that 1990 was the first year but this is incorrect as mine has a serial number that starts SE9 which shows it to be an 89. The SN prefix would start for 1990.
Does anyone know what this fretboard is. It doesn’t look like the pao-ferro. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi there,
Listen, I’ve got a Fender Prodigy and Iw as just wondering if you could send me some info about it. Anything to do with how good it is and similarities to a Stratocaster would be good.
Thanx anyway,
Daniel
I also own a prodigy, and haven’t been able to find out any info on it. If you, or anyone finds anything please let me know. Thanks.
I picked up a prodigy and hard case for $200 at a used store. when I looked it up, I found out it was made around ’91. even though it says made in us, thats only the neck and electronics. the body was made in mexico. I like the guitar and am curious about how good of a deal I got on it, so, I too would like info on the prodigy. What I know now: I love the way it feels, it fits me like a dream and sounds just as good.
the prodigy was an attempt by fender to appeal to hard rock players in the early 90s. it was one of the first guitars to come out of the mexico plant. i’m not sure what kind of wood the body is made of. it was discontinued because of it didn’t sell well. what a shame. i own one myself, and i wouldn’t give it up for anything.
s/n#103062 ,white 1 piece metal pick guard(painted white),"sausage"tone capacitors,1 tone knob and 1 vol knob ,’50-’56 kluson tuners ,’transition" logo with number 1 in star, possible aftermarket slab neck not sure because all information i find is contradictory! 2 black pick-ups rear is vertical front one is on slant, head stock of tele, body kinda strat/tele mix(pale yellow) 21 frets,3 way switch on angle i.e:front pick-up,both pick-ups and rear pick-up settings, plug in on pick guard,neck/body/fretboard wood??no idea.CAN ANYONE TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THIS GUITAR?
I am hoping to find either a Fender 800 single 10 string pedal steel or a Fender 2000 double 10 pedal steel. Any responses welcome.
i have been looking all over for a sonic blue jag-stang. can anyone tell me where i could get one?

What you’ve got is the Heavy Metal Stratocaster made late 80’s to early 90’s.It’s so unlike a standard Strat that people tend to think it’s a copy. I’ve got one and it plays
really well and has a nice wide neck which suits me
You’ll find all the dating information on http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/Data4/Fender

Hello everyone,
Im looking to restore my 69 mustang bass, it was "restored" before but not very well. Are the pickups in these any good? Mine are horrible. Should I buy new ones or have these rewound? If I buy new ones I would purchase a repro picguard because I’ve never seen replacement pickups for these and do not want to cut the original one. What do you experts think?
thank you,
frank
I have a Fender Bronco. It’s got to be from before 1970 (how can I tell?). It is in very good condition although I can’t locate the tremolo bar right now. It does not have the original case. What can I expect to get for this?
Thanks

Any ideas what the story is with this Fender semi-hollowbody.
Here are some pictures of it at:
http://www.harkavy.com/66FenderCoronado.jpg
The headstock just says Fender. The neck is dated 10APR66B
The serial on the neck plate is 501xxx, which supposedly indicates 1973-1974. Looks like a Coronado. But were they even making them as late as 73-74? Also the 3-way switch is located down near the volume and tone pots, not up on a horn. (baby Schallers and the Nashville Tuneomatic were replacements of the original parts). I’m the second owner. Bought it in 1979. The previous owner said he found it under the XMAS tree from his parents.
i can’t seem to figure out how to restring my guitar, because instead of a hole, there is a slot on the top of the peg … thanks for the help
i was playing and my e string snapped. i got some more strings but i cant figure out how to re string it. part of the string is still stuck in the bridge, how do i get it out
What you want to do is use a standard clothes hanger or a paperclip. This should be able to dislodge it, but if not, use a VERY firm thin screwdriver.
I have owned this guitar since it was brand new. I have enjoyed everything about this guitar. Unfortunately I am needing to sell it to get by and have had it put up on ebay by a co-worker. If anyone is interested please check out http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1457053521

: It is my understanding that Fender has stopped making this amp. Does anyone know whether this is a good amp or was it a bust for Fender?
I have a lizard green one but am only a garage player. My music teacher borrowed mine for a 2week tour and then sold his Marshall jcm800(?) head with quad box & bought his own. He reckons it is fantastic because it is small & has a huge sound. The amp starts to overdrive beautifully on the clean channel about 4 with humbuckers but stays cleaner louder with strats. The Overdrive is a cascading gain which means that the more you turn up the 2nd gain the more it sings without distiting more. I love it.
I`m still searching for the "right" guitar and I`ve found this really mint condition 70`s Fender Jazzmaster, It seems to play and sound fantastic but I`ve heard that 70`s era Fenders are`nt very good. It`s priced at £1100, could someone who knows their stuff advise me on the truth of the 70`s era reputation and the value of this guitar please? Thanks in advance Ev xx
can anyone tell me how much a jagstang is worth? It’s in great shape. Thanks
I know for a fact that a Fender Jagstang is worth more than $300. I have one I need to get appraised but i can say that $300 is a skimpy offer for a rare guitar…..depending on the year. My ’93 was appraised @ $1200 in ’97 I need to get it appraised again to sell.
prolly around 300 dollars. i’ll buy it from you
My 1969 "Silverface" Super Reverb is all original and has no imperfections. Nobody knows what it’s worth! I have good photos that I can email. HELP!!!!
What is known about this guitar? Is it rare? Is it worth any money? Is it a good guitar? Thanks for any info
The Flanme was manufactured in 1984 as part of the Fender Master Series. Three guitars were offered, the Flame, the Esprit (very similar, but with equalk cutaways and a slightly larger body), and the D’Aquisto archtop.
For each of these 3 designs, there were standard, elite, and ultra. The main differences were in the inlays and hardware.
Note that the Esprit was the basis for the current Fender Robben Ford model, which is pretty expensive.
These guitars were only manufactured for about 1 year, and all were made in Japan by a factory known for Ibanez guitars.
I have owned 4 of the Esprits and Flames. They are very good quality – very similar to an early 80’s upper line Ibanez, in my opinion. There do not appear to be many differences between a Flame and a solid body Ibanez Artist, which can be bought in the $500-600 range.
I would think the elite and ultra variations would be worth a bit more than the standard model. My guess is in the $700-800 range for the standard model and closer to $1000 for the nicer ones, depending on originality and condition.

Right, finally got the hang of this internet thing! Just sent original message back by mistake. Anyway, I bought my Flame Elite new in 86 for £260, the rrp was then about £650,
but these were being sold off as Fender had recently been bought from CBS and they were no longer being marketed, according to the shopkeeper. The Ultra had gold plated fittings, block inlays and TBX tone controls, Elite had the TBX and snowflake inlays, the Standard didn’t have TBX. I tried the Esprit and the Flame in the shop and chose the Flame as I thought it balanced better. Its a great guitar and I’ve never seen another one since so it must be quite rare.

I do not know much, but there should be a date stamped on the butt of the neck. You’ll have to unbolt the neck to see it though. There may be shims so remove the neck so that they do not fall out or at least in a way so that you can see there position(s) and replace them in the same spot(s).
That said, my understanding is the neck date indicates the date the neck was made and may not be the date the guitar was assembled. The neck date on my Coronado says 10APR66B but it doesn’t jive with the supposed date range indicated by the serial number on the neck plate. Apparently there is no exact way to date some of these guitars because Fender record keeping was inconsistent and spotty. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Your guitar is a fairly rare mustang. It is a "Competition Mustang." They didn’t make a whole lot of them. Kurt Cobain used one that was Green with Aqua stripes, and i recently saw Orange with orange stripes on ebay. They are hard to find, and are great guitars. i would hang on to it. I have seen mint ones go for $800-$1000
I have a 1969 red Fender Mustang with white racing stripes. i believe it is all original and is in mint condition. Hard case is showing a little wear. Any idea on the value?

Fender Mustang Floor – Multi-Effects Pedal
I think it’s a Fender 50th Anniversary Stratocaster, but Im not sure.
It’s serial number is N525438
The serial number indicate that this guitar was made in 1995 because of the "n" for ninety, and the 1st number "5" which mean it was made in 1995. Fender made the 40th anniversary only in 1994 (some were made in late 1993 and may have a serial number starting with "N3") however all of the 40th anniversary guitars carried the metal "flag" emblem on the front of the headstock. If yours doesn’t have this, then it’s most likely not a 40th anniversary. Fender also made a numbered limited series strat that was virtually an identical copy of the 54 strat. Yours is not this one. As for the 50th anniversary,, those guitars were made in 1996 and all carried a 50th anniversary sticker on the back of the headstock. If yours doesn’t have this, then it’s most likely not a 50th anniversary guitar and if it’s not a numbered series limited edition, it’s definately not.
You do however have a very good 1995 instument made by fender and if it’s american made, which by you serial number it most likely is, then it’s a great guitar and you should enjoy it and play it alot. Hope that helps.
But it’s just a sticker, this is why im not sure…
Another thing, the headstock of the guitar is in the same colour of the body(metallic blue).
How much do this guitar worth?(if it it is 50th anniversary strat(50th anniversary for fender not for stratocaster)).
Thanks ALOT, Daniel.
Fender introduced the Strat in 1954, so I don’t think there is anything called a 50th Anniversary Stratocaster. Your serial number denotes a guitar made in the mid-1990’s. Could this be a 40th anniversary guitar?
Also, note that Fender’s American Standard Strats from this time period all had 40th anniversary labels, so this does not necessarily mean the guitar is something collectible or overly valuable.

Can anyone tell me why Fender have stopped making the strat plus, I own one of these gems and it`s a damn fine instrument, so the question remains why re~issue duo sonics (dogs) and stop making the plus series and re~issue of the elite series??
I agree. The Strat Plus is my favorite Fender of all time. I had two of them and just sold one. I still own my first, which is a 91, with a Blue Burst finish. Apparently the strat plus is not all that popular among strat players, because their value seems to have decreased over time. You can buy one on Ebay for less than $600!
To answer your question about the Duo Sonic and the Elite series, Fender has expanded their line of cheap and student model guitars becauset that’s how they make most of their money. Ask any guitar store owner and they will tell you the same thing. They make their cash from kids buying new guitars- not experienced players buying expensive models.
However, based on Fender’s track record of re-issues, I bet they will re-issue the Strat plus someday.

I have had mine since 1991. At first I loved it because it was my first tube amp even though the tone was totally wrong for what I wanted to do- Van Halen, Pearl Jam Ten, Nirvana. I bought some new amps over the past few years and get more the sound I wanted in the first place. I tried to sell the Twin because it was a little too rockabilly for me. Well, I couldn’t get a decent price to save my life, so I decided to risk an upgrade. I bought some Warehouse Speakers TE65 which are like Celestions g12h65s and they are great. Totally changed the amp. The ice picky shrill twang is gone. The amp is more mellow and the gain has a better break up. If you want to play rock on this amp, I really recommend changing the speakers. It’s still not a metal amp though- classic rock. It can get a decent amount of gain though. I would recommend an overdrive for leads. The clean was great but harsh before the speaker upgrade and it still sounds great, but more mellow. The Warehouse speakers were only $65 each. Another trick is that I bought a used Sholz Power Soak and now I can get the gain going heavier by turning master volume up to "2 or 3" and use the power soak to keep me from blowing my eardrums. I can even use it for quiet practice with the Power Soak. That was $75 used. Great tone. I hear Hotplates sound even better. Less tone robbed. The volume knob on this thing is ridiculous. To play quietly you need the thing turned down to half of one. I can play with a drummer and bass player on 1. 1 1/4 is loud. 1 1/2 and everyone says it’s too loud. I have a Marshall half stack and this thing is definitely touchier. The Marshall on 4 is like this amp on 1.
I have owned one of these amps for 3 yrs and never used it because it’s way too loud. I recently spoke to a friend about it and he just happens to be an expert in electronics. Especially valve stuff. He showed me a mod which works brilliantly and now I can crank up the gain and volume to 8/9 and get all the right tones without blowing my ear drums out. Here goes…. Wire a 25w light bulb in series with the loudspeakers. This splits the output of the amp between the speakers and the bulb making the sound much quieter. It really works!

Howdy,
I’ve had mine for going on three years without a single problem. Mine is near mint and had a small preamp tube rattle which I fixed with a new 12ax7.
As for tone, it’s great for clean applications; especially jazz or with a Rickenbacker 12. Heavy Metal would probably be good with this amp. For me it’s a reliable clean machine with some real "thump" from those 12-inch speakers. This is a "Sleeper", like many of the red knob models.

I bought mine about twenty years ago and do have to admit it is a great amp. Heavy? It is that. Loud? You better believe it is. For the first few years of owning this amp I was timid & shy because it was so loud and I was not so good. Over time as my playing improved so did my use of this amp. Personally, I rarely played with the volume above 4 or 5…mostly below one. I did a lot of basement jamming and you need somewhere for that sound to escape to like a open garage or club. I am married with children now and my playing is not as frequent and jamming with friends is even less frequent. So once you get to where I am it is probably time to down grade unless you are more active in your playing. But do not let me being an old timer detract from the FACT that this is a great amp.
Good luck,
Mick

KEEPER ALL THE WAY, I HAVE GIGGED THIS AMP FOR 20 YEARS AND IT HAS NEVER NEEDED SERVICE OUTSIDE OF A NEW TUBE. I OWN MANY AMPS< MARSHALL 68 PLEXI, BUDDA SUPERDRIVE II, AND THIS IS MY GO TO AMP. CHANGE THE TUBES, 12AX7 FOR RCA BLACK PLATES, 6L6 for GE 6L6GC AND REALLY IMPORTANT IS THE 12AT7 FOR A 12AU7 IN THE V7 POSITION AND THIS AMP WILL COME ALIVE AND COMPETE WITH ANY DUMBLE OR RIVIERA OUT THERE. I ALSO PUT A CELESTION BLUE IN THE WITH THE STOCK SPEAKER HAS A LITTLE EARLIER BREAKUP. BUT TONE WISE IS PRETTY DAMNED CLOSE TO THE EMMINENCE. MINE IS THE BLACKED KNOB EVIL TWIN.
I PLAY IT AT LOW POWER WITH TWO TUBES PULLED SO IT IS ESSENTIALLY A 12 WATT AMP AND THE 12AU7 CUTS THAT BUZZY GAIN WAY BACK. IT STILL BREAKS UP NICE BUT IT REQUIRES A LITTLE MORE ROOM WITH THE VOLUME AND GAIN KNOB.
Hi Thom.
Thanks for the info on your black knob Evil Twin. I have one in virtually unused condition, but I don’t particularly love the sound at the moment.
I have many other amps and the Evil Twin is far too heavy, and the average sound doesn’t make up for the atrocious weight of the combo .. ( in my opinion.) I admit, that it is INCREDIBLY LOUD!
Could you detail the mods for me please, and the logic behind them??
My e-mail is; [email protected]
many thanks
richard
I have had one for the last 10 years and gigged with it for about 7 of those years until my back gave out! It is an awsome piece of gear but does not suit everyone’s taste but I was very pleased with it all the time I used it in anger. I now use it for recording from time to time and to do so I took the middle two power tubes out and switched it to half power (not forgetting to alter the impedance) and it still sounds LOUD!!!!!!!! but you get a more useable tone that way. It doesn’t suit every guitar either and favours S/C Fenders my Tele with Duncan stacked P/ups sounding the best especially on the "clean" channel where it still manages to crunch a little and if you blend in the O/D channel just a tad it really rocks!!!!!!! I love this amp but I could be persuaded to part with it for the right price but I know I would miss it
Well I just bought this amp ONLY because I was about to buy the DeVille but someone popped up and gave me a great deal for a Red Knob. At first Never heard of it but once he said All Tube I went for it.
So as of now I don’t like it because I’m not into this 0.5 volume screaming! It’s like a car speedometer with a max at 200mph – What’s the purpose?
I wasn’t keen on the sound vs. the DeVille or Hot Rod – I’m not hearing that nice bluesy sound – but I was using an Ibanez since I didn’t get my Fender back.
I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it. It didn’t wow me much yet.

American blues legend Guitar Shorty uses two red-knob The Twin amplifiers and will only play through those amps. He bought them new in the early 1990s and swears by them; he refuses to use anything else. http://www.guitarshorty.com

The red knob twin has great big shiny ones that go BONG. The only problem is that they tend to shake themselves apart every 10 years or so – if you play ’em loud all the time. I have 2 of them. Amazing sound and LOUD. I love the tone, and people are shocked at the volume.

I have one of these bought new in 88.This thing can drive nails on the clean channel and sounds ptetty decent on the od. Does any one have a manual for this thing . I lost mine Somwhere …Thanks…Tony
Hi Guys,
While this amp is heavy and probably too heavy for an old rocker like myself at this stage I cannot find something that will do a better job for a wide range of music.
I bought this amp new in 1988 and it hasn’t missed a beat BUT with the number of tonal combinations possible with the push/pull tone controls a lot of people are probably not getting the best out of the amp.
My preference is to cut the mid and boost the treble on the clean channel and boost treble and bass on the overdrive channel, boosting mid on the second channel is in my opinion not a great sound except with loud humbuckers and bass boosted.
Frankly, while I have them I am not a great fan for overdive units except for lead solos, but through the overdive channel, this when cranked is great for chords and solos.
Try a Boss GE-7 for boosting the solo and you’re in business.
Any feedback on my comments would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Mel

I fought off buying another tube amp for five or six years after my Peavey Classic 50 "kept on playing" between songs at an important gig, and I (a solo artist) had to unplug it, put up my Rickenbacker 360 12-string, and plug my Ovation Elite into the PA head and to finish my set acoustically.
I ordered a Hot Rod DeVille 410 last fall—but canceled the order when I tried to get distortion on the one in the store and couldn’t. I found a Prosonic head (Fender/tubes) and cabinet later and thought it was what I wanted ($1,999) and was saving for it. In the meantime, just this last weekend, I came across The Twin with the red knobs (don’t know its actual age yet) in mint condition. I mean mint. I played it in the store and liked it, went back the next day, just couldn’t get away from it. I bought it for $550. Everyone has told me for the last 10 years that tubes are the only way to go.
I set my "The Twin" up in my practice room (shop out back) in conjunction with my solid state Fender Stage 100 halfstack. I have the Stage 100’s volume set at 9 and The Twin’s volume is set at .7 (not even up to 1) on the distortion channel and about 4 on the clean channel. It is that loud, but workable, no, actually a trip and a half.
I don’t know what sort of music you play, but I cover songs ranging from "Mr. Tambourine Man" to "My, My, Hey, Hey—Rust Never Sleeps" to Hendrix. It does all of those things. It even sounds right on the Grateful Dead’s "Friend of the Devil".
I am pleased and inspired by this amp. I normally play both acoustic and electric sets every time I gig. I have a gig coming up in April, and after four practice sessions with The Twin, I’m considering taking only my American Deluxe Strat and then my Rickenbacker 360 as a backup.
I have few regrets, but one regret is that I went with a less expensive Peavey Classic 50 (turns out the reverb was somehow mashed down, causing it to "sing" and "gargle" with no provocation)instead of buying a real tube amp.
IMHO, The Twin is the most versatile amp I’ve played (I won’t need any effect pedals at all). This red knob job has received pretty high reviews across the Internet. I think that it is exactly the amp that I was looking for. I would say that if you can find one in good condition, go for it like a tiger on a hamburger. No, you ain’t gettin’ mine. As far as reliability is concerned, I guess it’s a gamble. Mine is used, is very heavy (75 lbs) and I will be taking my Stage 100 halfstack along as a back-up as well as for bass (played simultaneously with The Twin, but with the bass boosted for background sound). If The Twin takes on a mind of its own, I’ll have the Stage 100 to get me through the night. I have a feeling that The Twin is going to shine though. I have spent the last four evenings with it in 3 to 4 hour practice sessions and it has functioned perfectly. I’m sold on it. It’s a keeper.

I read in an interview with Jim Thompson, guitarist for the Mermen, that he prefers the red knob Twin for it’s superior feedback qualities. If you know the Mermen’s psych/surf music, then you know that Thompson is among the greatest guitarists, period, and a master of controlled feedback. I’ve been looking for one of these, and they are rather scarce. The weight issue seems to be mentioned alot in this thread, but I guess that "heavy" sounding amps are, well, heavy!
I have one, in pristine condition (literally) if you’re seriously interested. It does weight 77lbs, and I live in near Washington DC, so shipping is possible, but not something I’d recommend (unless you’re ok with paying what will likely be ALOT to do so). I can give you pix, serial #, etc…upon request. It also comes with the foot pedal (something many don’t have) channel switcher.
Cheers,
Devon

The fender 240a was my first brand new accoustic guitar which I bought in 1990…serial #0000000005.u0003
It sold new for $199ish… it was not a top model guitar but they were beautiful. I regret that i sold mine to help with college tuition many years ago and would be very intrested to buy another one just for the sentiment.
I bought my f-240A In 1988. I’v been a pro. musician for 40yrs playing all over the U.S.A, since 1988 I’ve been using my 240 in my show’s. I found it in a music store in Calif. and fell in love with it’s sound,I must have played 20 guitar’s not being concerned with how much it cost but buy the right tone, timber, and sustain I love mine.Serial#000000006: The fender 240a was my first brand new accoustic guitar which I bought in 1990…serial #0000000005.u0003

Great guitar for the period, not a solid top, but the sunburst body is the most beautiful guitar i have ever seen cheap or expensive guitar, the neck is also nice, with inlaid snowflakes, the whole guitar has binding around it, that also makes it stand out, with a set of D’Addario medium phosphor bronze strings on it, this guitar really sounds good for what it is, I think I paid $200 for it back in the day, if you find one, buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought mine second hand in 1993. The kid needed book money for college and sold it to me cheap. I got it for $50.00 with a hardshell case. Pretty good deal I do say so myself. The guitar plays fairly well and the tone isnt too bad. For $50.00, I can’t complain.
The Fender F-240A was produced from 1982-88 and retailed for $400 back then. It has a beautiful deep sound, especially the G! One of my fave guitars!
I have the same guitar and i bought it from a misician on the west coast for 240$, I guess i got taken but i do love this guitag even with the crack on the bottom and the bridge rising a little bit it plays and sounds great
i just aquired one today as payment for finding a couple of homerun vintage acoustics for a friend of mine…i was very pleasantly surprised!!! this is a very nice guitar…still has stickers on it!!! i cant seem to find much on it either…has anyone found anything else on it???
I have s/n 203056. Was just looking for the value…It is in excellent condition!
Funny story, John Davis (Superdrag) was at my house the morning before their planned “world tour” (where they possibly would have “made it big”) back in the mid ’90s, and offered me $1000 for this guitar… I turned him down. 12 hours later he was in rehab missing the tour.
Just restrung it for the first time in about 4 years after seeing this thread….

I have a Fender F-240A Serial # 201529. I bought my giutar early 1990’s and paid approximately $779.00 Austarlian Dollars. It is a good looking guitar and sounds great with age. I’ve been trying to find out what the Bridge is made from i.e. Ebony, Rosewood? It is dark like ebony but it might be rosewood with the darking of age. I am repairing the bridge and bridge plate at the moment. I think that my F-240A may have been made in Korea?
Hi there
While you were repairing the bridge did you note the saddle type or size..would love to know the details if you could pass them on.
my original saddle snapped sometime ago replaced by a stand-in..i don’t have the proper measuring gadget and there are too many similar but not quite right to choose from.
Would love to return the f240a back to it’s glory days ..i’ve never had any complaints about the sound live etc..its been my only stage guitar since the 90’s
cheers from me

Hello, I’m Max from São Paulo – Brasil, and how you discribed is realy very dificult find something about this amp; but I can say that is excellent Fender amp very powerfull, you have several possibilities of sound configurations just try find your sounds. I play blues, pop, rock and this amp is amazing and is a good amp to use in a bar, because don’t have tubes so you can put in a car trunck. You can play with both of channels, i use a stomp boxes like marshall bluesbreaker 2 this sound great and an Ibanez TS10 Tube Screamer and cry baby wha-wha. THis is a Fender guitar tone I can compare because I have a 50watts Fender Bassman and a Marshall JCM900 dual reverb mod. 4100 this is great for les paul tone.
So, if You have the manual and schematic from London 185, please sent me by e-mail.
Thanks

Made in Japan, and it’s a Mustang. It’s got all original hardware I hope, the neck plate is with serial number, it works, tuning keys in good shape? I’d say at resale, it’s worth about three fifty. Assuming it’s all there. I’ll buy it.
