Diastone Takamine guitar

I picked up this acoustic guitar doing rubbish removal I don't know much about guitars but it looked old and was in such good condition I couldn't just throw it away(it was in a case and everything). The label inside the guitar says Diastone handcrafted by Takamine model nmber TG 009. I cam't find anything on that serial number. I would like to sell it but have no idea what I can reasonably expect to get. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Carrie

Bruno Royal Artist

I have a Bruno Royal Artist 6 string electric guitar that was given to me to restore for a friend of mine. serial #6504731 exist on the neck plate sunburst color. a couple of scratches and dent buts other wise mint condition. I like the way you can adjust the neck pick-up to suit your needs the sound is also nice it has some options that i wish were available on today's model of guitars. I not sure but i believe the owner said it came from sears cataloge back in the 60's his dad bought it for him when he was a kid. I going to take it a guitar show here in arlington texas to get it apraised or to at least get some more information on it. e-mail me with your comments or info.

Re: Bruno Royal Artist

I'm onto my 2nd Bruno Royal artist. The 1st I had I bought in about 1978 for AU$70. It had a slightly modified p/up (pole pieces removed)which gave it a very pronounced bottom E. I gather it was used by a self accompanied country singer. The name had been removed & Gibson painted in its place - I assume because it has a very approximate 355 look. The bridge p/up - unmodified - really cut through. I loved it but it was stolen from my home 2 years ago.
I found another on eBay last year after much looking. It cost me, after postal from Florida to Australia & customs charges around $450 but is well worth it. I've had to spend an additional $75 chasing a new bridge p/up as this one had a busted one. It's still a work in progress as I haven't quite matches the sound of the p/up. Easy to play, light, absolutely georgeous to look at & with a bit of tube preamping it makes an awsome racket.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
ray
PS I have an Emprador semi bass which makes a pigeon pair with the Bruno in looks.

still looking for es artist electronics help

anyone able to help/inform me re: ES Artist electronics? the boards are clearly MOOG in manufacture and really are supposed to be the cat's ass when they are fully functional. How to get and keep them that way? Is Bob Moog out there? I understand he does assist in getting the right help occasionally, from his retirement in Florida somewhere. Any and all help is gratefully accepted.

Re: still looking for es artist electronics help

I struggled a lot with the electronics over years. Nothing advanced here, just lousy handwork. Resolder everywhere, if it doesent help, rewire everywhere.
It´s a hell, believe me. My best advice is: Since this guitar never will be collectible just dig the hole thing out and rewire it to passive modus. It sounds and feels much better. Here is the:diagrams:
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WDUHH3T2101/WDUHH3T2101.html

Some people changes the pickups due to advices from "experts" hwo claim that the impedance is too low. I stick to the originals, no prob. They really sound bigger and better without the Moog boards. Those you can put in a box and make a cool pre amp if you need.
My Es-Artist 1980 was unplayed for 15 years.
After the rewiring it´s my favorite.

: LOOKING FOR NEAR MINT ES 125, WILL PAY $$$$$$$$$$$

Just bought one at a garage sale for $40.00 in mint condition, think it is a 1962, serial number 42840. Also bought a B-15 for 40$ at the same sale. Don't play, but knew they were worth more than that!!!! Thinking about taking up the guitar. Looking on the web, looks like I bought a gem! Frets have no wear, body and neck are flawless....Not sure if I wana sell, until I investigate further.

need info on old capa continental guitar

I need some info on a guitar I aquired 15 years ago. It's a Capa Continental electric guitar off white in color with two chrome humbucker type pickups. It has two old style tone switces that slide up and down as opposed to the toggle switches of today's guitars. I know the previous owner purchased it brand new back in the mid 60's at an old guitar store where he was taking lessons. The guitar is in very good condition an still sounds great to this day. I know absolutely nothing about Capa Continental instruments or where they were made. I have searched the internet and can find no info on this instrument or its origin. Is there anybody out there that can provide me with some info about this instrument? It would be greatly appreciated. G Parker.

I have been searching for years for info on CAPA Continental guitars. I bought one in 1967 and sold it to an old guy in 1973 along with my Heathkit amp and an original Cry-Baby Wah. No one has ever heard of a CAPA. It was the sweetest guitar I have ever owned, great action on a super slim neck. I have owned a dozen guitars since, but none of them compare, including my old strat. Where are all the old CAPAs??

Re: need info on old capa continental guitar

I had a Capa Continental in the mid '60's. It also was white and really terrific. My guitar teacher picked up for me. Here's what he told me. A man who had worked for Fender as a head designer and technician went into business for himself. He said this man was very influential in some of the classic Fender designs. He used the stratocaster and telecasters as guides when he made his guitars. The business was very short-lived. Most people in music shops have never heard of the Capa. Now I wish I had kept it. I feel like I sold a Tucker. :)

I played one in a band in the last 60s. It was a second brand made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I also believe it had something to do with the company that produced the guitars that The Ventrures originally played (the name slips my mind). Mine was light blue with white guard, somewhat like a strat. I bougth it in Charlotte NC if that helps at all.

Re: need info on old capa continental guitar

I played in a band in the late 60ies with a guy that owned a Capa continantal. It was Strat copy, off white with a maple neck. He played it through a Fender super reverb amp. The thing sounded awesome, so much so that I searched for one 2 years ago. After not finding one I purchased a 50th anny Strat from Fender that looked just like it. It really brings back memories. I think Capa went out of business sometime in the 80ies.
