  1. How do you properly string acoustic guitars?

    My 70’s vintage Epiphone Excellente is a string killer…OR(most likely) I’m not putting the strings on right.They de-tune easily, always, I’m not sure about the amount of winding needed.When I put them on, when I go to tune , italmost always pulls the string too tight, which causes breakage andI’m afraid could be harmful to the neck and/or bridge.Also, the ball-ends of my acoustic strings, hoe should they be set in by those little pegs correctly?ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

      : i have no problem tuning a 6 string guitar. I acquire a 12 string guitar but am a loss of how to tune it. Can you help?

          I play by ear, so do you know of a site that has a tuning device that will give me the note via PC speakers that I can tune my 12 string correctly?

            The strings are set in pairs
            Lets start with the (low)E-pair the thicker one is supposed to be a normal E, its thinner partner is also E but one octave higher

            so it goes on with E, A, D, G
            but B and high E strings are of the same gauge so they should just be tuned equally, no octaves there
