Any tips on removing lacquer from a store bought guitar?

Posted by Ant on Fri, 12/27/02 - 11:46:51.

I just picked up a really cheap Dean V, the only problem is it's a gross rust/bronze/brown colour. I want to get the varnished paint stuff off of the body so i can paint it black, anybody have any clue how to do this properly? at the moment i'm chipping the coating off...any help is appreciated,
cheers,
Ant Martin,

If you want to take it down to the wood, try this link.

I'll be using this link to strip my black Ibanez RG1570 and want to stain it for a natural look.
