  1. 1999 Dano DC59 - Oddball
    Gibbit6

Hello…I bought the DC59 Dano maybe 10 years ago from Spencer at Danelectro (Shipped from Tennessee ? I have sales slip in my files somewhere…) The sticker on the headstock indicates Serial Number = 049913109 Made In Korea. This Dano was NOS and shipped as Brand New guitar and sure looked like it. Spencer described it to me as DC59 Deluxe Jimmy Page reissue and it is a very cool Black Pearl Metalflake with a Natural Headstock unlike any others I’ve seen. Natural headstock is on 12 string and 3 Pick Up Blaster Models and I’ve yet to see one like mine ? Like I said, Brand New 2 Pick Up with the “die-cast” bridge not Rosewood saddle. This DC59 is the nicest guitar I’ve ever played (IMO) in terms of “butter” action neck and fretboard. Came in a vinyl, padded, yellow with red stripping gig bag. Anyone else have similar or the same “look” DC59 please ? This is one guitar I’ll never part with as it feels like was made for me and me only. Also bought Dano Pro Reissue in 2007 (Sea Foam Green) and it is also one of the best I’ve ever owned or played. Very very cool guitars ! Any info or comments would be great…Thank you all…

I’m a recent owner of a DC59 Jimmy Page model..plays like a champ..light weight that is needed for an old fella with back issues…..I can’t believe how easy it plays…and bending strings is so easy and smooth……..best deal on a guitar for it’s playability, looks, sound…..$233.00 used….love it and it’s a keeper…..next is the convertible!

wanted to say to all those people that are looking for dano related things, contact chance mcfadden. his info is posted on here several times. had several dealing with him over the years and not once was i disappointed. so hey people like i said before if ya need something dano related just hit him up if he doesn’t have it he can get it and his prices might be a bit more than gc or other similar places but the service that you get from him is top notch and it more than makes up for the small price difference.

    1. dead on 67 bridge replacement
      Anonymous

For anyone that might find this useful:

I replaced the stock bridge with the chrome SB5800-010 adjustable Dano bridge. I don’t use a trem arm and this works good for use as a hard tail. Better sustain and tone. One small catch is that the string spacing is very slightly different but it still works. Also RE: the ridiculous faux aluminum control cover that gets scratched up. I took one of those green kitchen scrubbies and scrubbed the silver off. Its now black and looks better.

I would like to know any info on this amp, year of production, popularity, estimated worth,

    1. Dano is notorious for
      Anonymous

Dano is notorious for laughable reverb in their amps (sounds sort of like a ufo sitting two dimensionally on top of your tone and usually cutting signal significantly). not sure about their reverb units outside of their amp design though.

Hi I saw your question and was wondering how things worked out with your vintage Danelectro reverb box as I am considering buying this same Danelectro reverb unit.
How does it sound? are you happy with it? would be interested in your thoughts
      Thank you

  10. information on model f twin twelve amp
    john haluska

hi there i just won a danelectro twin twelve model f series amp. i was wondering what kinds of things that i could be told about this amp so i know what to expect. i basically got it because it was in need of a louder amp than what i was playing with ( a newcomb e10 b head and speaker) and wanted more than one speaker… i know there is a lot of stuff about the silvertones that have pretty much the same power, etc… but besides the way this is set up (in combo form) is there anything else that i should know " i am more about function over form … this is one of the reasons i went with this amp (not that i don’t like the form). i know that that reverb does not work on it…. is there something i should/ could do to research this type of problem prior to getting the amp?

      Drake Ziegler

Dude I own one of these. Got it from my uncle. Been struggling to find info on it because of hard times I’m trying to sell it off. The most I know is at current market rates you can fetch anywhere from $250 to $400 for if you’re looking to sell. Its a nice little amp, I must say but not a neccesary asset to my rig. Find anymore info, plwase e-mail me. [email protected]

  13. Need Template or Plans for Cutting 59-DC Body Blank
    John J Egan

If anyone can help me obtain a template or the proper measurements for cutting, routing and drilling for a 59-DC body blank to receive pots, pick-ups and neck, I would be eternal grateful.

I have managed to obtain all the necessary Korean made NOS lefty parts, including an unfinished Danelectro 59-dc body blank to build a true lefty 59-DC replica of a vintage 3021. Finally a guitar for the ages built for and by a lefty!

Thank you for any help you may be able to offer.

  14. MORE AUTHENTIC PAGE DANELECTRO, and beyond the infinite
    steve russey

    Hello again…

Still very happy with the Page "Dano" I found back in ’01, yet still on the lookout for a more authentic vintage model (black, two pick- ups, white seal-shaped pick guard, "out of phase" feature, as well)…

I did find a Jerry Jones "Dano" which is more like Page’s (black, seal-shaped white pick guard, not to mention a very sophisticated bridge, yet, sadly, no feature to throw it out of phase)…

Any tips, leads, or trivia are/is most welcome…

    chance mcfadden

Hi all, you probably see me on ebay, my username is guitarlegend, i have a crazy Dano collection, and last year when i re-opened my store, i became a dealer. I was into Dano before it was cool to do so, I appreciate everyone’s love for these tragically hip guitars, and if you like, drop me a line at [email protected]. My store is http://www.fortmadisonguitars.com. I have a lot of the re-issue parts and some hard to find stuff, dont ask me to part with any of my collection…..I love this stuff too…I got some close out deals on some pedals too, but Im not here to sell, just to say hi and let you know I am around. 1. Re: Dating Danelectro Leader amp
      Glenn David Brien

: How do I determine manufactured date on Danelectro Leader amp?

I just acquired a Danelectro Leader- The octal plug preamp tubes indicate early 50’s or older, and the speaker date code (285402) would indicate that the speaker is a Rola (285) made in the second week of 1954 (4=year, 02=week). So mine was made sometime after the second week of 1954. If your speaker appears to be original, read the date code and compare it to the speaker code list at http://www.webervst.com . I am looking for a schematic for this amp. Anyone got one?

I’ve got an original convertible that I picked up at the Guitar Emporium in KY recently. (even has the original, (very worn) flannel lined gig bag. It plays fine and electronics are perfect. The headstock was repaired where it split along the left side at the top. They told me it has been that way for years.Interested??
