Avea or Anea Superformer Series Electric Guitar

Posted by J.D. Leppert on Sun, 10/02/05 - 08:35:51.

I've have this Telecaster shaped solid body electric guitar and want to identify the maker and date but can't find anything on it. It has a maple neck with mechanically adjustable nut, enclosed machine heads, two pickups, and Kahler tremelo. Came in sturdy Unitech Case. Anyone out there know something about this fine playing guitar or can steer me in the right direction?

Thanks,

JD

I have an ANEA Powerformer series Bass guitar that is copy of a Daion MarkXX bass. I have tried to do some research but always come up empty handed. There is no serial #. There was and anea electric guitar forsale on ebay a few months ago and I noticed that it was a copy of Daions electric. I feel that somehow Anea and Daion are connected. My anea is a bolt on neck and the Daions are neck-thruogh. Daoin was a company in texas that was owned by a japanese guitar builder and they made very quality instruments in the early 80s but soon went bankrupt. That's about all I know.

Re: Avea or Anea Superformer Series Electric Guitar

I have a Superformer Series Guitar that I owned it for 20+ years.
Double cutaway body(Strat-style, but the body is flared out a bit)with a Humbucker(bridge position) and 2 single coil pickups(mid and neck position.)
It also has a Kahler tremolo and locking nut.
Neck is maple.
Pickup selectors switches are individual on-off toggles, except the humbucker. It seemed to be setup humbucker-off-single coil.
The pickups need to be replaced, but i cannot find anyone who has heard of this guitar or the setup for the humbucker that I mentioned.

Anea Pickups

I just finished restoring an Anea bass that I got off of E-bay. I got the pickups from a company called Stewart-MacDonald for pretty resonable, had to get the screws separatly because it comes with bass pickup screws, and even know it is a bass it needed humbucker screws for the pickups. Sounds great, well made guitar, just no paper trail where it came from.

Correction to previous post: Neck is ROSEWOOD, not maple.

Hi:
Like you I have this solid body Bass that is a bolt on neck sound and plays great but cannot find out anything about it. I was told once that is might be german made, but have not been able to get anything I could bank on.

Re: ANEA guitars

: : : I have an ANEA solid body electric from 1981, shaped like an ARIA ZZ model. It has a USA made KAHLER tremelo and string set system. It is well made and plays great. The only other ANEA anywhere is a Telecaster style for sale in Winter Park Fla. Anyone out there have any ANEA's?

I just bought an Anea (or Avea?) Powerformer Series bolt on solid body. No serial number or country of origin. Beautifully made with maple & walnut body & US Kahler. Paid $80 at GC in Rochester NY. I think it's a steal. Can't find anything about it either.

Anea

My friend Al picked up the same guitar you are talking about when I lived in Winter Park, FL in like 2009. From what I understand, or remember him telling me. the Anea you have is a japanese guitar, and if my memory serves me right the company used to be called Daion or is now called Daion. I'm not 100% sure on that, I'm going to try and find a picture of it, do you have any of yours?

Anea Powerformer bass

I have an Anea Powerformer bass. There is a lot of info about Daion guitars online. Daion sites say Anea bought out Daion, and bought their stock of parts. Only problem I see in this theory is that Daions were neck through, and Aneas are bolt on necks. I would think that if Anea bought Daion, they would also be neck through. Also, the earliest Daion I've seen was 1979. My Anea was bought new in 1975.

anea

I am settling an estate and one of the guitars is an anea. powerformer series.

Did you ever find any more info about it?
still...three years later, there is not any info on net about them.
Help would be appreciated:)
Thank you,
J
