: I bought my El Degas (Les Paul recording copy) in 1972.Paid $500 for it and a Fender Vibrolux, both new. I've played it hard ever since. Got the frets worn down bad. It has the old "soap bar"pick-ups and a very different tone switching configuration. Nothing like the standard LP, 2-vol./2-tone set up. Still sounds great and doesn't loose tone when you turn down the volume of the guitar.Bottom end rumbles! As far as value, I have no idea! I do know , I wouldn't consider selling it!
