I bought this guitar 15 years ago from a music store whose company had gone bankrupt. According to him the guitar was a prototype made for Herb Ellis. It has a solid spruce top and solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. The tuners are plated with a yellow metal which I expect is gold, although I cannot say for sure. It was made in Nagoya, Japan before Arai transferred the manufacture of Aria guitars to Spain.

I have hardly played it and other than a couple of very small scratches, it is like it came out of the factory. A coupIe of years ago, I took it to a guitar maker for restringing and he told me the guitar had a richer sound than most of the Remirez's, Hausers, etc. that he had heard.

I am interested in getting a "ballpark" value on it for insurance purposes. (Wilma took my roof off and I want to get it insured.)

I live in the South Florida Area and would like to find an appraiser who would give me a written estimate. Unfortunately I have spent a couple of hours on the internet and have been unable to find a local appraiser.

I have read several opinions that the "by mail" appraisals are not very accurate. Anybody know of an appraiser in South Florida?

Thanks!
