Bruno wizard

Anyone have ANY info on a bruno wizard classic style acoustic

Royal Artist by Bruno

This guitar history is beyond new to me. Can anyone please shed light on this totally black issue. This guitar is in near mint and looks like a Hofner with a Vox twist to it> Sunburst finish and seems to be a good chord style guitar rather than a hot lead style. Got to be early to mid 60's era. Help, Rusty

Juan Orozco

Dear senor Orozco,
Wishing you an inspiring and prolific 2009!
I bought one of your wonderful guitars back in 1992, at an Amsterdam flea market. It's a 1979 "10" model, and it's been my closest musical friend ever since. The basses are majestic (I used to play duets by Carulli with my father at the piano)while the mid and treble range is mellow yet penetrating in a most sophisticated way. It's led me to the vihuela repertoire and Baroque composers such as Weiss and Kapsberger. Thank you so much for putting so much love into this instrument, it shows, even after 30 years. Wishing you all the best from Indonesia, where I live and teach English,
Frank

I have a strat copy that is sunburst with a body that is thicker than a strat that reads Conqueror in cursive in very worn gold metal flake paint on head. No other markings. Nice maple neck. Bought it very used in 1977, had frets reworked and have played it moderatly since. Pretty sweet guitar, but I know nothing about it either.

Twilight Zone Conqueror

i recently bought a conqueror from a gentleman who had a flea market booth for 200.00. It is a black solid body in good condition, two pickups, pearl inlay pinstiping on the front and back edge, pearl inlay on the peghead. There is a conqueror emblem also on the peghead, there is no other imformation on the guitar, not even a model number. I changed the strings, and hooked the sucker up to a digitech GNXl processor and it is sweet, i cannot believe it, it sounds like a gibson, smooth, smooth smooth. Can anyone tell me what i have here. I have searched and cannot even find the name on anybodys data base, this is crazy. It has a heavy feel and sounds great, but the knobs will have to be changed and there is no name on the pickups. any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Hey,

How weird? I was on this site searching for that namebrand guitar. I have a guitar that belonged to my grandfather and it is a Conqueror. I was hoping to research its value, maybe discover when it was made. It is marked conqueror on the neck and has CS-7 on the inside sticker. This is all I know. I sounds okay for an old guitar. It needs a new bridge because some of the strings are buzzing, but other than that, it's pretty decent. Anyway, let me know if you learn anything else. Thanks.

a bruno coqueror classical

i was taught to play on this guitar by my grandfather, and he gave it to me recently...my mother was also taught to play on this guitar, so i know it has to be at least 40+ years old..there is no model number, but it has a mohagany front with a dark brown back and fretboard...its basically just a wall hanger for me, but its been cherished and it still has a sweet sweet sound..i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the story is behind these guitars, and if they were quality in their day and time...thank you to anyone who takes the time to reply..

Re: a bruno coqueror classical

I'm looking for the same info.I have a BRUNO Conqueror Classic #670 and can't find anything about it anywhere.

Re: a bruno coqueror classical

I think I own the model that you're talking about. It's a classical guitar with a walnut fretboard and back. It has an intricate pattern around the sound aperture and a surprisingly beautiful sound. I know it's old because my uncle bought it in a pawn shop in Kansas City for my mom in 1979. Now I am the proud owner of this guitar and I play it every day. I've asked everyone I can think of about the origin of the mysterious "Conqueror" but I can't find anything about it. The only other conqueror I've ever seen is a miniature banjo owned by a friend of mine.

Re: a bruno coqueror classical

I learned to play guitar in the 60s on a Bruno Conqueror classical guitar. It was a wonderful guitar, given to a family member in the 70s and lost. I'd love to have one again. If anyone has one and wants to sell it, please contact me.

Hey, Barry. I have an old Bruno parlor guitar in OK shape(it needed some cracks repaired.) When I bought it, the seller told me Bruno was a protege/employee of Martin
before the turn of the century, and that the guitar he was selling was made in 1899. I know I've seen them selling for thousands of dollars in good shape, so be nice to yours! If you find any more info on C. Bruno guitars, I'd love to hear about it! Good luck, John

Hey John and Barry. I just found an old guitar that has a sticker inside that says 'Bruno means Security' and on the lyra style headstock is a plate that says 'LYRA'. It looks like an old Martin, I'd say 20's or 30's, maybe later. I bought because the top is a very resonant fine grain single piece of spruce. I'd also love to find more out on Bruno guitars. Best wishes, Richard

what kind of things should I look out for when looking over a used guitar? should the strings touch all the frets when pressed down at both ends of the neck?
