Re: WANTED Guild M20

I have a 1965 M20 Cherry. sn: AH 2976. BEATIFUL condition. purchased and played for a few months lightly by my granmother. put in a box and stored for years. I just recently pulled it out of her closet. there are a few small nicks in the finish but other than that it is flawless. This is the BEST condition you will ever see on a guitar this old. Email me if you still wish to buy.

Re: WANTED Guild M20

Just wondering if you still had you M20 guitar.

Guild G37SB

I have a Guild G37SB I bought new in '78 It's sunburst, maple back and sides and has no back braces. Factory case included. It sounds great. Has a custom bone saddle and brass end pins. I used it for rehearsals and sessions. No road work but I have used it live on day trip jobs. I don't play anymore. I can supply pictures.

I have a Madeira model A25C

Does anybody have information on a Madeira A25C that is in great condition? If you do could you give me an estimated value of it or tell me if this guitar is a good guitar?

Eric,
All I can tell you is that I have an A25, not the A25C, I bought new in 11/84 that has been a real stand-up axe.
Though made in Japan, the tone quality has improve over the years. I park it next to sterio speakers when not being used and I know that helps to season the wood.
As for as value? I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to find out only from a curiosity standpoint. Have no intentions of parting with it. It has become a very good friend over the years.

: : : Eric,
I'm just getting the hang of this! I also have the model of Madeira A25, serial No.78781 which I bought from a friend in the early 80's. He bought it new for 80 pounds sterling
& I paid 50 pounds for it when it was nearly brand new. Yes, it's a great guitar.I chabged the nut for a graphite one and lowered the action under the bridge. Plays great & stays in tune. Have never seen another model like it. Any info welcome. Andy.

Madeira A25C

I bought a used one two years ago at a pawn shop in Maine for $100. U.S.
It is made by Guild, plays really well. I use it for my "beater" guitar- beach, camping etc.

Guild Madeira 2 String

I have a Guild Madeira 12 String (model A-12)from the '70s that has an EXTREMELY high action. Essentially unplayable at this point. I've asked one repair shop about the possibility of fixing it and they tell me the repair will cost more than a new guitar of equivalent value. The sound is BIG and rich and I am reluctant to use it as a room ornament. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: Guild Madeira 2 String

I also have a Guild Madeira A-12. I have had it a couple of years now, and it has been unplayable also because of the high action. The reason the action is so high, is that the glue holding the support struts, (inside the body) is rotted away. This means that the bridge is getting no support and rises with the string tension. Is thiswhat is happening to your guitar? (You can tell by the body having a curved appearance between the bridge and the acoustic hole). I have just started doing the repair myself. If this is the samelet me know. Maybe I can take some photos, and send you instructions.

66 Guild F30 - Broken Headstock!!

I'm trying to get an accurate replacement value for insurance/repair purposes. One store gave estimate at 800-900.
Another store said its closer to $1600! This is a really sweet guitar, everyone whose ever played it, heard it raves about it.

Guild dreadnaught wanted

Hi there,
I am looking for a '70s Guild dreadnaught in good shape, with no cracks or other serious problems. Normal dings/scuffs OK. Primarily looking for a D-25/25M, but will consider all. Love the sound of those older Guilds and would like to find a nice player.
Thanks a lot,
Mike

Re: Guild dreadnaught wanted

Hi Mike,

I've got a Guild Madeira A-30R. It has to be at least late 80's, maybe even 70's. The sound is wonderful, like nothing I've seen or heard since the late 70's fenders. I bought it second-hand in 1988. I hate to part with it, but I have small hands and pretty bad arthritis, so I hardly play anymore. I might be open to an offer.

Thanks,
Michele

I have a Guild X-2000 I bought from a friend in Germany nearly ten years ago. It's serial number is cl000049 ( I think) I need to sell it and i cant find a correct price. One guitar shop here told me that it was a nightbird, but I think they are wrong. I found a germany site that had my guitar on it and a price of 2,900 DM which is ruffly $1800, in poor condition. Can you help me get the right price. Guitar shops here are trying to screw me one guy had the guts to offer me $125.00 (not selling it for that price.)

The Guild Bass

Can anyone tell me how much my b103 guild bass guitar is worth.
The guitar was purchased in London in 1980, Can you also advise
when these guitars were made to/from.

Many thanks..

Re: The Guild Bass

Do you mean BS 301, because I have one of these - funny shaped body, single pickup (single coil, P90 type), massive neck, big schaller tuner pegs....sound familiar - I found a pic in a guitar dealers catalogue/book thing, mine is a 1979 model and I belive that a mint example is worth around £5/600 or there abouts. Don't use mine much anymore, going to strip it and refinish it, also the pickup is broken and I'm trying to find a replacement.
