HI, I just bought a Squier II, exactly as you described; SSH, rosewood neck, pearl white, the trust rod is the end of the neck near the first pickup, and is xtremely heavy,the Squier II logo is gold.
Mine says it was made in India, but I can't find a serial number. Any idea if there is a serial number somewhere on the guitar?
The guy who sold me the guitar said that the Mexican and Indian(limited numbers made in India according to him) were made with american parts.
This guitar looks well made, and it is heavy (heavier than my 1979 Fender lead II which is made of ash which is heavier than alder... the lead II is slightly smaller than the squire II so I'm guessing that its made of ash too).
Any info you've found that you could pass on would be of help.
