I have a Fender Squier II Stratocaster. I would like to know where it was manufactured. The neck plate has two stickers on it . A QA hand written with someones initials and the date 2/90. The serial # is N018332, also a sticker. The neck head looks like any other Stratocaster. It plays like any other strat, I have played. Does anyone have any info ??

Re: Squier II
Don't know if anyone is still looking at these posts but I just bought a Squire II with 12/89 on the QA stamp and serial number NO 15534 on the sticker at base of neck. Serial number seems in line with yours. My research has led to perhaps the guitar was made in India. According to Fender, any guitar made in US was labeled as such and no Squire IIs were made in US. So we may have a Japanese version but more likely it's Indian.

i have a squier II as well, haven't checked my year on it, but was curious so started researching, and i have found that either yours is American made '90 or maybe, just maybe, Japanese. Either way, enjoy that SOB cuz those things can be fun! lol

I just picked up one in a pawn shop and bought it because it plays great. Squire II, white rectangle sticker w/serial # NO29882 on heel of neck. Also, round paper inspection sticker on neck plate "6/90."
Headstock decal reads "made in India"
Re: Squier II
Its made in Japan.
Re: Squier II
As far as I understand, Squier II was only made for about 4 years in the late 70s/early 80s. Yours shouldn't have a serial number starting with an N, because that signifies that it was made in the 90s. Yours might not be authentic.

: I have a Fender Squier II Stratocaster and was manufactured in korea, may be this information can help you, but i need to now if my guitar its an original fender the serial number E 901037, can anybody help me?
Re: Squier II
Your Squier II was crafted in 1989. E followed by 9 indicates this. I used to have a 1989 Squier II strat with double humbuckers and it sounded great, it was really good for shredding. I now have a Mexican Squire 1998 with three single coil pickups, it sounds great too, but in a bluesie kind of way. I am considering putting on three Jimmy Vaughan Tex-Mex single coils to make it sound even better. If you are looking to sell a music store that deals in Fender may give you $100 if it is in really good condition. If not, it is anyones guess.

Re: Squier II
It's a real Fender, but a cheaper version of tha original. The serial # states when it was made. The E 9 in the beginning of it means it was made in 1989. The other #'s are just to state the production # on how many were made. Like 0049 would state it was the 49 one made that year. I hope this helps with your quiston.

Re: Squier II
where can i get some squier II info, because im the owner of a (h s s) old sq2 and i dont know if the double mic is original. my guitar hasnt got the ¨head hole¨ to regulate like old fenders
Re: Squier II
HI, i got two Squier II, one with SSS, maple neck, pearl white, and the trust rod is onthe headstock; the other one is SSH, rosewood neck, pearl white, the trust rod is the end of the neck near de first pickup, and is xtremely heavy, and looks more older than the first one,... this one does´n have serial number, and the Squier II logo is gold, they got too much diference and the finish is just great.
The SSS have serial begining with 9.

Fender Squier II's were made in the late 80s and the early 90's. They were made in Korea, but better quality than the Mexican Fender strats. I have a 1990 Squier II and it is awesome. These guitars are very very heavy and they have massive sustain. Most are worth about $300-$400 today, if they are in good condition.
Re: Squier II
Well, I Have here in Brazil a Squier II with no serial number on the decal. It seem that these ones were made earlier than the ones with serial numbers on it. Were they made in Japan?
