My fater-in-law has a red Super Chet. I have put together a spec sheet on it and if you would like a copy send me your email address and I will attach the spec sheet to my reply. It is a beautiful instrument. The spec sheet has all the dimensions and component descriptions. We did check with a dealer to see what the value of the guitar is and we were told that it was $1,500 -$1,800 in the Used Guitar Book of Values. We were both shocked that the price was this low as the guitar is wonderful to play, is probably the most beautiful guitar I have seen and it is in like new condition. The cost of the guitar in July of 1964 was $1,100.

My father-in-law has a Gretsch Super Chet. It is a beautiful red guitar with very unique binding and great sound, It also has a thin neck. I have been trying to find what the market value of the guitar is. I have other specs on the guitar if you are interested.

Re: Gretsch Super Chet

HI! My husband died three years ago. He had a Gretsch Super Chet, and I have a couple of pics of it.. it was AWESOME. We were told by a local collector that it is worth about $6K. Hope that helps.. If you want to see the pics, drop me a mail. Chris

gretsch groadkaster banjo

I am trying to find any information possible about a banjo we just came across. It is a four string tenor. It has either ivory of mother of pearl inlay on the neck with other designs inlaid in it. It is very heavy. Any information you can supply to me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lenora Dossey

I think I have a banjo similar to yours. It is a Gretsch Broadkaster Special. It sounds exactly the same as what you have described. The one I have is missing the mother of pearl dots along the fretboard, there should be seven of them.Do you still have your banjo ? Do you know what it is worth?
