mystery gretsch!

Just bought a second hand mystery electric gretsch. No serial number, very distinctive head stock with gretsch written vertically (when held horizontally the logo goes from left to right). Two humbuckers, natural light wood finish and unusual scratch plate. It's looks more early rickenbacher than gretsch. The headstock resembles a hockey stick head and the logo has no over arching T. On the back of the guitar at the base of the neck is a white rectangular plastic plate protecting the neck bolt. On the reverse of this plate is scratched the date 27/2/78. Havent been able to find any pictures or info and experts haven't got a clue but say it's very rare. Happy to send a picture as an email attatchment, any info would be very welcome.

Re: mystery gretsch!

You bought yourselve a 1977/1978 TK300! The bolt-on neck, body style, logo and styling of the body are unusual for Gretsch. The pickups are placed in what seemes random angles. By far the ugliest Gretsch ever mad. Regards, Ronald
