Ibanez RG 520 hardtail

I am trying to find out some information on my RG 520 hardtail. I believe its made in 1999. I know its not a vintage model but I am having a hard time finding out anything about it.

: I am trying to find out some information on my RG 520 hardtail. I believe its made in 1999. I know its not a vintage model but I am having a hard time finding out anything about it. I am just trying to find out a retail price on it. It is black with black chrome hardware and has V7 and V8 pickups. All acess neck with a wide strip of bubinga on the back of neck. It is a great guitar I am not to fond of guitars with locking nuts so this RG is really what I like. I am more into Strats and this is is a great super strat style guitar.

Ibanez Destroyer 2

I am looking for an Ibanez Destroyer II, that is black in color. I had one several years ago and sold it and now I am kicking myself for it. The serial # on my old Ibanez is A850039. I would love to find my old one but would be happy to get one just like it. If you can help, please let me know. Thanks

RG440/Roadstar II/tremolo

I have an old roadstar II, it is model RG440 from about 1987. I have stripped the tuning screw on the tremolo and the local Ibanez dealer is telling me that he cannot replace it. Does anybody know where to get the right screw for this thing. If not what type of tremolo should I use to replace the whole thing, I want to make sure that I get the right size if I have to buy a whole new one. Help.

Re: RG440/Roadstar II/tremolo

Hi Mike. I don´t think I can help you, since I´m from Brazil, but in fact I own the very same model you have. Even the year 1987 is the same. Can you tell me something about what woods it has? Body, Scale and Neck. Thanks, man.

I need Ibanez PD7 schematics!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone knows of a website where I can download the schematics for the Ibanez PD7 Phat-Hed stomp box, please e-mail me at VectorM77@attbi.com

the actual instrument that was the cause of the norlin/gibson suit in 76 was the f-10 mandolin copy. all gibsons were included to stop the copies. as for the value?
fitted neck- about 500.00 in great shape realistically 350.00

There are no 63 Gibson Les Pauls!!!They stopped making them 1960 and they started again in the late 60's

Re: gibson lawsiut les paul copy by ibinez

Got a similar les paul copy custom, white with gold hardware do you know any history on these guitars. I,ve had it since 79 but the guy who sold me itknew nothing.

Re: gibson lawsiut les paul copy by ibinez

I have a black Ibanez LP copy w/gold hardware, it's a '74 or a '76 it also has 3 humbucker pickups. Nobody seems to know anything about these guitars. I haven't even seen any except for mine. It's nice to know i'm not the only person with this problem.

locknut on '85 PR1660

Hi

Is it possible to fit a locking nut to the PR1660, if not would locking tuners make it more stable?

Rock On!

Re: locknut on '85 PR1660

It should be possible. Mine came from the factory with a locking nut that matches all the other hardware, such as the tuners, bridge, vol, and tone knobs. So I wonder if the locking nut on your guitar was removed?

As far as overall stability, you may also want to think about the bridge on the PR1660. The standard "pro rocker II" bridge that came on most PR 1660's was not nearly as stable as the floyd rose type of systems. Therefore, even with the locknut clamped down, the original bridge is not ideal for any serious wammy action. However, it's better than most of the factory equipped bridges from the mid 1980's in terms of accurate mild to moderate dives and bends and returning to being in tune.
I like to tune mine, then quickly do a few dives, then re-tune, and this seems to give the best setup on my beloved PR1660.

: Is it possible to fit a locking nut to the PR1660, if not would locking tuners make it more stable?

Re: locknut on '85 PR1660

I don't think that there has ever been a locknut on mine as there is no holes drilled for it there is just a standard "fender style" nut rout... Possibly the neck could have been replaced.. I bought it second hand so anything is possible

Re: locknut on '85 PR1660

I looked at the headstock on mine. I also have a "fender" style nut rout. On the front mine has the words "pro line series" after the large "Ibanez". Also, on the back of the headstock, right in the center, mine has a small rectangular sticker that says PR 1660.
If you are wondering whether you have the original versus a replaced neck, the presence or abscence of these markings might be a clue. Aside from a replaced neck, another very real possibility, is that Ibanez changed the neck and headstock over time, with later guitars including a locknut.

Okay, if you can find a correct locknut, I think you'll be in business. My locknut is not "straight", b/c the middle portion (which locks the 3rd & 4th strings) is staggered away from the nut rout, to provide access to the nut. If you want my to email you a picture of the locknut, let me know and I'll send it so you can begin your hunt. Good luck!

77' Ibanez Concord

I am a singer/songwriter/guitar collector, and my favorite guitar to play besides my Fender American Deluxe Strat, is my 77' Ibanez Concord acoustic, which is basically a replica of a Gibson Dove. I've played an array of Taylors and even Martins and I can't find anything more beuatiful to look at and hear than this vintage Ibanez. I was wondering if anyone might know what the value of this type of guitar in mint condition would be. Thanx

Mahalo.. I also own a Ibanez Concord, made in Japan, #699, but I think it is early 70's or late 60's. I bought it second hand in San Francisco between 1972-75 sometime. Mine is spruce top, and maple blond a very beautiful guitar, and plays nice too..

I bought an Ibanez Concord 360 BX around 1974. It is black with a butterfly as part of the black pick guard. It also has beautiful inlays. I find it more difficult to play than a Taylor or Yamaha due to the high string settings. Bar chords are more difficult and in fact I brought it to a guitar store today to try to lighten up the feel.

ibanez guitar

Re: ibanez guitar

Re: ibanez guitar

Rob, I am looking for info too about this model. I have the same guitar.
It plays fantastic, and the sound is simply phenomenal.

Mine is a sunburst I bought second hand in Italy some 10 yrs ago. The inlays on the neck are everything but charming.... some kind of shiny plastic triangles. Two triangles per fret. Or a rectangle with a diagonal line generating two triangle , if you want.
The headstock is similar to an epiphone h.stock, but larger> it features a nice tribal icon, that could resemble a sword with some riddles here and there.
How about yours? How does it play? Same features as mine?
Cheers, Matteo
