  2. 1978 Model 2618 Artist
    Steve

I am trying to price my Artist. I am not selling it, but I want to know what it would go for. It is excellent condition,
serial number F785085. Set in neck, flying finger pickups with 3-point adjusment. All original, no dings.
Gold-plated electronics cover still has "Made by the proud crafstmen of Ibanez…Japan".
Tuning pegs are mother of pearl. I’ve seen similar models, but never one exactly like mine. I bought it new with
paper route money in jr high school, still my favorite 😉

I have an ’82, solid black, that says pretty much the same thing on the back cover but the cover is plastic. Mine has Grover tuners. Sustains like crazy! As good as any Les Paul I’ve ever played. I got it in a pawn shop in Brownwood, Texas for $250. a few yrs. back. A bit heavy but this is my main axe.I’ve been told I could get $$650-$700. for it now. It also is not for sale.

: trying to find out who makes the phantom guitar?

There made by Phantom Guitar Works in Seattle. He makes them off shore somewhere, when I last talked to him they were produced at a factorey in India. I forget the owner’s name.

The original Phantom and Teardrops were produced by Vox, and they produce re-issues now under different names, as Phantom now owns those names.

Will pay upwards to about 500.00. Please, no kids wanting to rip off claiming this guitar is "vintage". The highest priced one I have encountered was on e-bay(551) and the lowest Ed’s Guitars(x w/case-429).

    1. three types made or ghostrider
      keith wimmer

I have two of the three made. one with humbuckers and one with P-90’s There not considered vintage but should be. I have never felt the sounds jump out of a guitar as well as these. Buy it if you find it! They are great! Vintage is just a word I have Les Pauls and they have sounds a bit
different. Find one or two and keep em! have encountered was on e-bay(551) and the lowest Ed’s Guitars(x w/case-429).

  7. A Question About my Ibanez *Vintage*
    Arvida

I was wondering if any of you could give me some help on identifying my Ibanez. It looks a lot like the Ibanez model
    # 2614. It is fully mohogany, with a rosewood fingerboard as well as block star inlays. There is no serial # on the guitar,
but it has the old Ibanez logo and name on the head stock. The pickups are Super 70’s and the tuners are original
"Ibanez" tuners. The electronics are the only things that are different from the 2614. They are accessed through a
black piece of plastic that covers the electronics slot, not from the back. It is like a black pickguard where the tone and
volume pots are. The bridge system is Gibson style. Please let me know what you think and if you want any pics to try
and figure the thing out. Thanks!

Also,I am looking for an Ibanez SG junior copy with a set neck.

      1. Re: Ibanez L5
        Jon Dalton

Ibanez L5 copies were produced in Japan from about 1974 to 1979. Early models looked exactly like Gibsons. The guitars were available in both electric and (in very small numbers) acoustic versions. Finishes were sunburst and blonde. Due to pressure about copying from Gibson’s lawyers Ibanez tried to evade copywrite infringment by changing the shape of the headstock to a rounder one (late 70’s). Unlike the gibson L5 most Ibanez copies were made from laminated wood (though some solid top models were made). Many players actually prefer laminates as they are less suseptible to acoustic feedback. Most models had rounded (venetian) cutaways but a small number featured sharp (florentine) cutaways. The model is becoming increasingly collectable as a cheaper alternative to the real thing but, because most owners are reluctant to part with these fantastic guitars prices are increasing rapidly.

One in honeyburst in x cond. w/case for $429(Ed’s Guitars) and the one on e-bay, present bid of about $466. Greatest little gutar for money, and looks good, too. My first one(94)cost $525. The first letter of the serial number, "I" in this case, is the 9th letter of the alphabet. This signifies the guitar was made in September, the 9th moth of the year. The following 2 numbers are the year. So, your guitar was made in September 1978. Nice guitar! Worth more than a few bucks, maybe $800-900, if it’s in excellent condition!

Hey fellas, glad to know theres a few Cimars left. Only 500 made. Do any of yours have the gold plating intact?? 1985 vintage, and quite a chunk of change then. I paid almost $1000.00 for mine new. Twin humbuckers, and the lowest action I’d ever felt. and everyone tripped out at the 4 machines on the top of the head, and 2 at the bottom. Well write me back guys. If any of youy are in the San Diego neighborhood, we should get together for some pickin!!!

    Jay Dee

I recently found a 1976 Ibanez Les Paul Custom (D76….)Originally
white, but has aged to a vintage cream color. It is in ‘vintage condition’. It has just enough ‘road wear’ the ususal nicks around the
edges, no belt rash. It is a bolt on neck, nice and straight. All gold hardwear, well worn, frets very good, gold pickguard action awesome. ‘EMG Select’ Hums. This thing screams, in tone, handling, and appearance, Professionally set – up.
What is something like this worth??
    Any response appreceiated.

  20. 1978 Ibanez Iceman for sale. MINT!
    joe

Here is some onfo/pics of the iceman. I would like to get $1000 for this one.

This guitar is absolutely gorgeous and in amazing condition. It is a 1978 Ibanez Iceman (serial # H785542) with a SET NECK! This isnt one of those bolt-on models that you see all the time. It has a mahogany neck and body, flying finger pickups, creme binding, chrome hardware, beautiful tobacco burst finish, and the ORIGINAL case. In addition, this guitar sounds amazing!! Anyone who has played one knows what I mean. With the exception of a few very tiny scratches on the back, this guitar is in mint condition. Any refelections you see are from the camera flash. I’ve had this guitar for about 6 years and I hardly ever play it. (which is why I’m selling it) Whoever owned it before me couldnt have played it much either. It really is just a beautiful, vintage guitar. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. I will be happy to respond.

  25. Ibanez Acoustic Guitar
    Rob

I recently had an Ibanez Acoustic that was made somewhere between 1967 to 1970 stolen from me and I am having a difficult time with the insurance company putting a value on it. Could anyone out there help? Thanks

    1. I have one too – it’s my favortie one yet. I think it must be very rare since you 2 guys are the only ones I have known to have one besides me. I was offered $1000 and I told them to go suffer in hell. I wouldn’t consider it a Rhodes rip off, it is actually very very different. Only the most cursory look would even make anyone think of Rhodes’ guitar. It’s getting worn well, but I love it to death. Mine is pearl coloured. ANyone want to sell me theirs? Gotta love those blade pick ups.

    2. Re: PR1660
      Kieran Ball

I also have a PR1660. Can’t tell you much about it though, as I’ve had it for nearly ten years, gigged it to hell and back and know little about it. People have offered me a lot of cash for it, but I’m keeping it.

      1. Re: PR1660
        Josh Fulford

I have owned my pr1660 for 5 years now and I personaly think
it is the best guitar around.I have tried many others and couldn’t find thier sound to match mine.I put a GT500 pickup in it and this baby screams. I usually have to turn the volume knob down so I can hear my friends guitar. Its a one of a kind and I’ve been offered $900 when I only paid $400, 5 years ago.
