Does an early 80's, Made in Japan, all mahogany SE-19 have solid top and sides or laminate? Made in Japan is stamped/burned into wood.
Thanks for any help. Any guesses on value? It's a single cutaway, nice shape, no case.

Bought the Sigma SE-19 and I love it. A great neck, 'faster' than most guitars I have.
: I have a 80 anniversary also. Go in Yahoo, type Sigma Anniversary guitars for the search and the first one should be a web site called mudcats. Scroll down quite a wy'll untill you get to the articles. there is one article writen by a guy named Guest , S. Webb (about almost a third of the way down). Its a big article on the history of sigma, it's great. It's everything you are looking for trust me! It also sayes something very interesting about our sigmas. You have to read to find out though. I will say we are very luck to have one and do not ever sell it. Enjoy
I AM LOOKING AT AN 82 YEAR OLD FRIEND'S SIGMA DM-S3 THAT HE HAS HAD FOR SOME TIME. HE WANTS TO SELL IT TO ME. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO AS TO THE AVERAGE VALUE AND INFORMATION IN GENERAL. THE "S" STANDS FOR, ....SUNBURST??? I CAN FIND NOTHING ABOUT THIS GUITAR. THANKS, JOHN

Google Sterling Webb and Sigma acoustic guitar...takes you to a chat site with a lot of Sigma guitar lovers. go through the postings and pay particular attention to Sterling Webb's comments. He seems to knows everything about them...except I still can't get comments about the GCS-6. Though I did have an inquiry if I wanted to sell it.
Alright, I have a Sigma dm-3 at my house, it's real old, I need to know if I can get a new bridge for it ANYWHERE and about how much it's going to cost, if you know anything about it please help... Thanks bunches:)
I bought my sigma DJ-3 in 1985. The bridge peeled up a little on one end. I had it repoace at a local guitar repair shop/ A Martin bridge was ordered at around $30 from Martin Co. With the price of teh bridge and the work, ir cost me around $85 Canadian. The guitar still plays well.
I also have a DM-3 and have had very little luck finding out about it. Are they that rare!!! Let me know if you have discovered anything interesting. JG
by the way... my bridge has cracked as well. Still very playable.

HI, I OWN THE SAME GUITAR WHICH I BOUGHT IN MANCHESTER ENGLAND IN 1993. I BELIEVE THE GUITAR WAS MADE IN 1987. SIGMA HAVE A GREAT NAME FOR A CHEAP VERSION OF A MARTIN. I FIND IT REALLY STURDY AND HAVE HAD A MICROPHONE PUT INTO MINE WHICH MAKES IT SOUND LIKE A BEAST! I STRING MINE WITH 10 GAUGE STRINGS AND GET A GREAT BLUES SOUND. ANYWAY APART FROM THAT I DON'T KNOW ANY MORE. ONLY THAT THEY NOW DON'T MAKE THE CUTAWAY VERSION AND THAT IT COST ME 135 POUNDS STERLING.
GOOD LUCK! CHRIS
