: In 1969, the joint ventures between Samick (Korea) and International Music Corporation (Texas). In 1972, Hondo began making copies of Fenders and Gibsons. Different models of Fender and Gibson copies became available in 1984 (Fame, Revival). In 1995, Hondo was purchased by MBT International and has been owned by them ever since.
