I purchased this guitar in the ’60s, but found that when playing, I kept repeatedly hitting my hand on the whammy bar. So I hack sawed it off, not thinking. Now that it’s vintage, I realise how dumb that was. Does anyone know of someone or a website that will replace it? Email me when you do.

If it is of any interest to you, I just bought an old Kay Mandolin and it has P4 stamped inside, on the bass side. I was looking for the combination of P4 and Kay mandolin, and I got your note… I don’t think this tells you anything, except maybe that the P4 was probably not a model… which is what your note tells me, too. So, it looks like you’ve got a gem! I’ve got two Kay guitars, but none so dressed up as the one you desecribe!

I was looking for the same thing you were, i called up the the gretsch company about a month ago and order the bridge for my 1969 gretsch 6120. They have everything needed like the muting system, the only problem is they are kinda dumb there, so they might mess up your order…good luck
The pickup that is located under the bridge of my guitar is loosing it’s protective coating. This is causing the guitar to have a hum noise and sometimes not work at all. I am looking for a replacement pickup that will replace the original pickup.

Hi, I have a Kay guitar(I believe) which had Gibson printed on the headstock but is not a Gibson. It has printed on N-2 on the inside of the body with serial number L-8084. Could someone tell me what year it is and whether it is a Kay or not. It has a brownish sunburst tiger finish to it.
