I am coming to Sydney in a couple of weeks would like to know where the best place is to shop for guitars – I have also heard there is a whole street dedicated to music shops – is this so?

      : Hello,
I used to live a couple of doors from Jim, and being a film maker I made a documentary on Jim and his guitars. It won a few awards.
Jim has since moved to the south coast of NSW near Bega. He’s a great guy and a great craftsman.
      Cheers,
      Mike

: 20 Years ago I bought a custom made guitar from the Sydney based luthier Jim Williams. He worked in a store that was located on the 5th floor in a building on George Street. I do not remember the name but it might have been something with ‘George Street’.
: If anyone knows Jim I would appreciate if you could forward my request to get in touch with him. His guitar is still working and sounding great and has made many friends and admirers through the years.

I just bought an early 80’s electric mandolin made by Jim Williams on E-Bay from a seller in Australia about two days ago. I won’t receive it for a few weeks yet. Anyway, I think the seller knows how to get hold of him, because he included some details provided by Williams in the auction listing. I’ll ask him and let you know.
