Hi, I recently bought a late 60's SA series hollow body that I love. Trouble is, I don't know anything about it - and cannot find out anything. It's emerald green, double bound, pretty sure there are two humbuckers, strange tremolo system, three way switch, one volume, one tone, and one blender. The serial number is stamped in to the fretboard at the 22nd fret. The number is 3907. Any info you can help me with would be very much appreciated ... as the guitar needs some work done ... want to know more about it before I do the work. Cheers
We have a 1970's era Yamaha electric guitar, a Mustang body shape (~Tobacco Sunburst)with both Yamaha and Nippon Gakki Co., LTD. inscribed on the headstock. The guitar appears to have an oddly-wired pickup selection/tone scheme, with 2 single-coil Japanese pickups, a standard 3-pos pickup toggle switch, and volume and tone knobs. There also exists a cheap 2-pos slide switch next to the neck, above the pickup, that appears to work in conjunction with 2 wheel-type potentiometers which appear to at least partially control the tone.
There is a serial number (4932) stamped into the rosewood between the 21st and 22nd frets.
I'm looking for any info on the model number, the story behind its construction, its value, and how it's wired. Thank you very much for your input.
