terada guitars

Can anyone suggest a website where I can get information on terada guitars? This company manufactured the only Martin guitar ever made outside of the united states and were a Japanese company. I have two models, one a T18 and the other a parlour steel strung guitar.
Thanks for any hints.

Terada c307n guitar

Hi recently purchased a Terada c307n classic guitar. Could anyone give any information about age, and value etc. Appears intact other than one string missing. Thanks.

Terada Classic Guitar Gu 2530

Hello, I picked up a Terada Classic Guitar serial no. G u 2530 at a garage sale for $3.00 Au.
I picked it up thinking this looks cheap and nasty --- played a few notes on it and was awestruck.
I have been playing guitar since 1962 (its all the Beatles & Stones fault, although Duanne Eddy & Ricky Nelson have a share.) err also Senor Segovia, Manuel da Plata, Julian Bream et al.

This is one of the few guitars I have tried that needed to be saved. What a genuine beautiful tone it has. I have had a few classic's over the years and this beats them all for clarity & again tonal projection - soft to loud and in between.

It must be early 60s - 70s. The fretboard is rosewood and does its job but is in need of replacement.

The timber is or appears to be nothing special just veneer. But the top is quite thin. and the bracing is copycat Spanish.

This guitar can be very sonorous and clear and loud ( i've already said it.)

If I had to value it I would put large figure on it - this is, or seems to be a rare guitar and although it appears nondescript
it is one of those guitars that immediately speaks and if you play guitar at all well you will know exactly what I mean.
Walk into any guitar shop and you could be there for hours trying to find one that has that elusive quality - it is getting tougher these days to find one.

Terada guitar

I have since 1988, one Terada Japanese made electric guitar.
I don't know how that instrument came to Chile (South america), where I live.
The guitar has no info about model. I can't find info on the web about Terada "electric" guitars.
Many people, and many musicians tell me I have a special vintage kind of guitar.
I don't want to sell it, but I want to know what kind of instrument I have.

Sorry about my english, I speak and write spanish, that's my language.
thank you for any help...

bye.

terada guitar model F W 74

I cannot find a thing on this model. Is there any one know anything about this guitar?

FW 74

I have the FW 74 as well. Had it for years now. Sounds great, good tone and action. No clue what I paid for it or what it is worth these days.

FW-74

I have one of these as well , Love the guitar. Would like more info too. Some kind of Martin copy I guess.

Re: terada guitars

Any know about the terada no c 308? I just got 1-can't find info.

Re: terada guitars

Yes, its a rare surviving model -i have one ! its Flamenco Blanka style and not classical, made from cypress, and i consider it to be of superior quality to other far more expensive guitars that i have. This guitar has slipped well under the radar of Flamenco players and in my opinion a superb classic.

Terada C 307 n

Hi.
I have been given a badly damaged Terada C307n, but cannot find any information about it.
The worst part of the damage is the sound board. More than half the sound board has come away from the sides.
Could you tell me anything about this model.
Is it worth fixing?
Thankyou.
Kind Regards.
Kriston

Go to gretsch/terada guitars. Nagoya Japan

Terada TW910

I have an almost mint TW910 Terada. My brother made me buy it when he discovered I played the harp almost 40 years ago. It does look a lot like a Martin and sounds pretty good. I use a medium string and remember my brother everytime I look at it.

It sits on a guitar stand 2 feet from were I watch TV. Always within reach and played often.

Thanks for the info about the Terada Site.

Terada FW - 713

Hi all

I have a Terada FW - 713. It was my dad's. He bought it second hand in the late 90's. I cannot find any info on it. I have gone through many guitars since I started playing two decades ago and this Terada is by far the best. I would just like to know the specifications of it... But there is absolutely nothing on the net.
Any info would be appreciated. My email is rustleart@gmail.com

Terada Acoustic

I bought my Terada from a shop in Shaftsbury Avenue when the area was loaded with guitar shops. Around about 1976/77.
The model number on the Terada inspection note inside the guitar reads 3188. It's still in very good condition and has a lovely deep sound. Apart from that I have no knowledge, value etc.
I once saw a web site that invited Terada owners to show off their guitars with photos but cannot trace it. Any ideas?

Terada Guitar

A friend of mine gave me a Terada JW 386 in really bad shape. My question is: are these guitars good? by the looks of it its going to be expensive to repair this guitar, does it pay to repair? I tried to find some info about this guitars but couldnt find much, other than they're from Japan...

Terada No. 400

Hi.
I bought this guitar at a carboot sale for £10. It is as new and came with soft bag but was strung L/Handed and someone had painted dots on the neck which came off without marking. Restrung the correct way and sounds realy great lovely deep sound.
Best tenner I have spent

Re: terada guitars

I just came back from playing today. I brought my Martin D-35 6 string, and my Terada FW912 12 string. Both have internal pickups. I bought the Terada in 1972 in Schenectady NY for $200.00, and the Martin in 1980 for $400.00. Anyway the leader I was playing with listened to both, and prefered the Terada's sound. It's old, but has spent most of it's life tuned down 1 to D. But, today I brought it all the way up with new strings and it sounds GREAT! Oh - and next to the Martin, it looks just like it's 12 string brother. I guess that was the idea,

Re: terada guitars

: I purchased My Terada TR 1000 From Hermies Music store in Schenectady NY in 1973. I play it almost daily. the TR 1000 was my first guitar. Recently, I considered trading it in. However the Music store in NC where I was going to trade it had no reference to it's value and at the time he said he didn't have anything in the store that sounded as good. My TR 1000 has certainly mellowed with age and continues to sound great. Needless to say I decided to keep the old axe.

Terada guitars.

I've had a nylon string Terada since about 1969. Beautifull tone, lovely to play. Travelled extensively including 2 1/2 years on a yacht, still looks almost new & sounds so rich. ser no GU2555. Engraved machine head. Never seen another one.

Terada 1000 classical guitar

I bought a nylon string guitar from a musician who had played the guitar since the early 1970's for $380 early this year. The guitar has been played so much that a good deal of the varnish has worn off.
I walked into the secondhand music store to by a cheap but reasonable sounding nylon string guitar. However when he played the Terada I was blown away. It was loud and the notes that came from it were beautiful and clear and I had to have it and now! I think I would have payed a thousand dollars if he had insisted on it. My guitar playing ( I'm learning classical guitar) suddenly became much more inspiring and fun. I love my guitar and have to fight my teenage grandsons to play it as it is so popular. Thanks, to Terada all those years ago. What a beautiful sounding instrument.

Thanks Mary.

Terada TR 1000

I have owned a Terada TR1000 since 1975. My wife, who knew nothing about guitars, bought it for me for a gift on our 1st wedding anniversary. She took the word of the sales person when she was shopping around for a guitar. What luck she had in deciding to buy this great guitar. The action on it is superb. The fit and finish is every bit as good as my Takamine EG334SC. Having owned it for 36 years I cannot say enough about it. I have been playing guitar since I'm 9 years old and have never had a reason to replace this guitar. I bought the Tak a few years ago as I have always been a fan of them. I love there sound.

The Terada has aged with grace and the sound is as soft as it is rich. The guitar has a rich mellow bass sound while at the same time the highs are not overwhelming and there is absolutely no fret buzz. The construction of this guitar is of high quality and after all these years the brigde hasn't moved.
I have a few worn spots on it but that is because I tend to play a lot of bluegrass themed music , Ozark Mountain Daredevil , Ricky Scaggs and also a lot of Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Kieth Whitley, Buck Owens, Charlie Pride etc. I play 50's and 60's music also. Great all around guitar.

I'd love to acquire another Terada but haven't seen one in a store anywhere. Anyone have a lead on where I might be able to check them out?

Re: terada guitars

I purchased a Terada 12 string model 1012 recently.Does anyone know how old it may be?What the value may be also,as i am not a guitar player,i just couldn't pass up a sweet deal!

Re: terada guitars

Hi Oscar
My understanding is that the current price for my T18 is around £3500 stirling! I had to re-surface the top which has an unusual finish. I would get yours to a REALY good luthier if it needs work. Please feel free to contact me directly at martin_hall-kenny@bristol-city.gov.uk.
