Hello, looking for information on my G340 SN#G81988 Goya Guitar. Would like to know year made, value, and any
other details. I purchased this guitar back in 1982 at a shop near Ft. Lewis in WA.

I have recently acquired a Goya acoustic guitar with a serial number 2013. The model # is F-12 and it is written in pencil on the label. It also states that it was made in Sweden, distributed by "Goya Music NY, NY 10010". It also says that it was "Inspected by G.H.". I am looking to date my guitar. Can you help?

The medalist was made in 1974 by martin guitar company
in Korea. In 1970’s Goya was sold to martin and moved all production to korea and china. I think thats about all I can remeber

I have what I think is an older Goya classical guitar. The model number is G.G.7 and the serial number is 53970. Any idea what it is worth? Where was it made?

  6. Another G-17 question
    Bruce Huss

I’ve got a G-17 Ser. #147819 and after reading the other posts all I have learned is that it’s late 50’s-early 60’s. Is there any other info available? I still love this old friend. Bought in late 70’s from a friend of a friend. Still had original receipt for $200 in the case. I’ve appreciate any info.

    Greg Stanley

Anyone know what my old Goya G-17 Serial # 4040010 is worth? Also, on the bottom of the label it says, Goya Music, New York, NY 10010, Made in Sweden. Gotta be worth something!

  8. I,ve recently come upon a goya m-26, I found the m-24 in old catalogues but no m-26. It seems to be 1958 with a metal, enameled trussrod cover that says Levin. Anybody? Dave.

I have one I bought in 1963 (model G17) for about 350.00 with a hardshell case. The guitar is probably worth less as a collectible but it plays well and sounds good to me.

    1. Re: Goya G318C - year?
      Leo Padilla

I’m a starting out guitarist and my grandfather gave me his Goya G318C to learn on. The paper on the inside has the model number: G318C serial number: 9212000012 C.F. Martin & Co. and Made in Korea and it has the address: Nazareth, PA 18064. does anyone have any idea what year it is and how much it is worth?

    2. Re: Goya G318C - year?
      Tim

I purchased one New at a Guitar shop in 1992. I think that I payed $315.00 and the MSRP was to have been $575.00. I had to decide between it or Keith Whitleys old Kingston that his uncle from Pike County Kentucky had brought in. I do not know why but I chose the Goya. One week later the Kingston was purchased by Lori Morgan for $500.00.

: How much did you buy the G318C for?

In 1987 I bought a Goya G318C for which I paid $500 new. My instructor recommended it because it was made by C. F. Martin Co. It’s still beautiful and has a wonderful sound.

I just purchased a Goya G318C. Unfortunately the person I bought it from didn’t know it’s history if it has much of one. It is in incredible condition so I don’t imagine it’s too old. I am looking for any information on that model and it’s year that is out there.
      thanks

No- they weren’t. You’re quoting the Levin companies guitars that were started way back in 1900 and never went above 900,000. Many people make this mistake, but there are NO serial number files for Goya imported to the USA post WWII. As you can see, the G-10 was only announced in 1958, and yet the requestor has one with a 3 million serial number. I have one from 1968 that is 403XXXX, so I would guess that this one is early 60s. The value in very good condition is somewhere around $200 to $400 these days.

Also have a Martin Tiple T-28 or D-28 (Cant remember which)Bought in the 60’s excellent condition
    thanks for any info!

    1. Re: Crappy Goya or decent?
      stephen brannan

A guy Just gave me a Goya G3. It’s fairly old and worn. some of the frets had gotten warped but the body is in pretty good shape. The tuners aren’t the best but can be fiddled with to hold tune. some parts are mising from mine so I’m going to replace them with some cheap ones from the music store. I also removed all the frets past the double dots for some frettless string bending action. as for your question crappy or decent go to a store, see what a nice one feels and sounds like and compare.

  18. Goya T-18

When describing (see above) the Goya Model G-318 CE acoustic/electric guitar by CF Martin….I may have used the wrong terminology…when I said "pick-up". I meant there are 2 control knobs marked: ‘tone’ and ‘volumne’…on the side of the guitar…on the upper bout. It also includes a tool which adjust the neck.
    This guitar was rarely played.

  22. several Goya guitars

Have inherited several guitars from a relative who taught music.
Would like to know best method to sell….perhaps E-bay?
These 3 instruments are all in new condition…and were meant to be sold to students.
There are 2 Goya CF Martin Model G 145S (serial #’s 93050025 and 93050027 Solid spruce tops, rosewood sides and back, bridge has nice bone design (or could be ivory) Also come with new plush lined hardshell case for each, 6 catches (one has lock/key).
There is one acoustic/electric1 Model G-318 CE serial # 93080016 Cut- away withpickups, fret markers on fingerboard, word: GOYA" on head, black tap plate. Has a new soft gig bag to fit this instument.
Advice…best method to sell these guitars and possible values…with the cases.

Serial#20592: on the top brace on the neck side of the hole, are the numbers "45. 2. 18. could this be the date feb 18, 1945? It is very unusual. I guess it is Dreadnought? do you know what I have. Thanks, Lefty Correll at [email protected] May 26, 2003 My grandmother gave me an acoustic guitar in about 1970(ish). It is labelled a "Greco", "Model GR 122" which is "Designed, serviced and adjusted by Goya Guitars, Inc." Serial no. 14848, serviced by "H". The label (yellow) is placed on top of another (tan), which I cannot read. After 30 years, it plays and sounds great. Any info on the guitar? I have always told my grandmother that it sings where she left off. She just turned 90, and I would like to tell her more about the gift she gave me.

I have a 1979 Goya G310 serial # 423008. I purchased it for my father in 1980. After everything was destroyed in a house fire in 2002 one of the workers clearing my house of debrey found that this guitar survived with minor damage. Originally it had an adjustable bridge which was lost some how, which I had a guitar shop carve a new bone to fit the wide opening. I lost two Martin D-28’s in the fire one a 1974 and the other a 1988. I purchased a Washburn WD32SW as a replacement guitar, when I got the Goya back from repairs this week after almost 4 1/2 yearson being silent the sound of this 27 year old guitar is fantastic.

I have a G310 not sure of the serial number but say’s it is the product of the CF Martin Association. My cousin has a very old Martin classic and played my Goya and tells me it plays and sounds just as good as her Martin. I use light gauge Martin Marquis strings and it sounds really great. Glad you were able to salvage your Goya for many years of good playing.

The guitar is probably made in Japan or Korea under license by C F Martin, who bought the Levin company, which included Goya brand, and moved manufacturing to Asia. See details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levin_%28guitar_company%29
Post a picture of the guitar and the manufacture’s label.
The value is around $150-300 depending on condition and if there is an original case, etc.
