Trust me online tabs are much easier to read than notes. It's quite simple to understand really, most tabs show 6 lines, which represent strings, from top to bottom, or, better put, thinnest to thickest. Numbers on the lines represent what fret to play.
For easy songs, try Come As You Are by Nirvana, and Smoke On The Water by Earth wind and fire.
