I have in my possession a 1954 Gene Autry autographed acoustic 6 string cowboy guitar in near mint condition. All of the parts are original except for the bridge. How can I find out its value?
It is a type of classical guitar. I think of them as not as nice as a classical, but I have small hands and stubby fingers. Anyway it is an acoustic with a wide fingerboard that has (usually) no radius and is flat or sometimes slightly concave. They have a bit wider string spacing for the finger style picking, but so does a classical guitar. The main thing that sets these apart from say a folk acoustic is they use nylon strings and have a slotted headstock. They also have a bridge that lacks those bridge pins and has a "tie block" behind the saddle. You tie a loop in the strings and do the noose thing running the string through the loop after you have fed it through a horizontal hole in the tie block. The string goes over the saddle across the nut and winds onto a tuning machine post that lays inside the slot(s) of the headstock. Flamenco style is what Charo, or the Romero brothers play. Classical is what John Williams or Segovia played, and they played both styles. They are usually voiced a bit differently and in my opinion a flamenco and classical guitar are almost the same thing. Almost, but not quite. Most of that depends on who plays the guitar. Mainly Flamenco is a Spanish style that is finger style with lots of flashy arpegios and runs. Classical is more precise and incorporates flamenco as well as classical music. See Hauser Guitars. Segovia played one and thought it to be the apex of classical guitar. Also names like Fleta, Bouchet, Ramirez, Hernandez, etc. Even Ibanez started as a classical guitar maker in Spain in the 1910s-20s. His main export marker was Japan. When the Spanish Civil War started his shop was bombed so he moved to Japan. Eric Clapton owns a 1920s Spanish Ibanez. I have one too, but it is not anything super great, just old. The name is pronounced eee bahn yez by the way. The bracing and small details mainly are what define the differences. Also the body size in some cases.
I have a surprisingly functional Old Kraftsman guitar, 3 bolts on neck, 2 pickups and shaped like a Fender Telecaster. On the plastic above the bridge is a code 9S811. I have searched high and low for info on this excellent sounding, slightly intonation off at the 12th fret guitar. 19 frets, 4 knobs, 1 tone and 3 volume controls w/ 3 position switch....does anyone know anything about this model? Date? anything? LOL
Thanks
Scott

Hello, I have an old acoustic guitar that has a sticker in it that say's
"Manufactured for The American Conservatory of Music 15 1/2 E.Michigan Ave. Battle Creek, Michigan
I would say it is unplayable, and looks to all of 100 years old. I was going to put it on e-bay and sell it, but I don't want to sell it for $20.00 if it is worth $200.00. Thanks Dennis

Curious as to the approximate values of a Yamaha G-65-1 acoustic and a Silvertone of around 1954 vintage. On 1-10 the Yamaha is about 9 and the Silvertone is about 7. Thanks much

I am selling my 1964 Rickenbacker 310 - This is a 3/4 size guitar and essentially looks exactly like the Ric 325 that John Lennon played. The guitar was modified to a 320 with the addition of the middle pick up. The guitar also has the "F" sound hole. Very nice condition with some repair work. Pots and construction style date the guitar to 1964 - original TRC, tuners were replaced but I have the original single line Kluson tuners. Nice neck and great action. If interested drop me a line.
Looking for some info on a Sigma Electric I picked up used a couple of years ago. Its a Les Paul Deluxe copy but can not find any serial number. I suspect that it is an early Tokai Love Rocks model but I did not see any references on Sigma reselling them. It still plays great. Any info is greatly appreciated.
I own a great guitar shop in Michigan. We have a very large nice stage for outside concerts w/BBQ... and and indoor stage for those rainy or cold days. I still have bookings left.

I am wondering what the value of my Alvarez 12 string is worth. I don't know what model it is except it was bought in 1979. Any help identifying and getting the value would be greatly appreciated.
I have an Eko bass with traditional acoustic body shape and a circular sound hole. The neck looks like that of a '73 camarro, and it calls itself a BA4/N. Is it real? Is it a hybrid?

Ole Crafsman Guitar
Hey Bud,
I owned an Old Craftsman electric back in 1962.
I was 12 years old then.
Seems the pick-ups stop working so I took the guitar apart to see what was the matter.
Wound up throwing it in the trash!
It was really hard to play.
Like to have ripped my fingers to shreds ever time I played it.
But back then I was to young to know about having a guitar set up!
Ya know like lowering the strings, ect.
Wish I had it now.
It was my first guitar to ever own!
Oh well!
I have an original “Ventures Mosrite of California” guitar that I have owned for 40 or 41 years.
Piece & Pick-On!
God Bless!
Bob!
