    I just bought a Viking 1 Hagstrom and love it. the serial number is 693347. What year is it? Is there a dater online?

      Its an 1966 model, youve got number 347 of 1000 made that year

  4. Need to modify my Hag...

    I hate to do it, but i need a players Hag, and this one sounds so sewwt, looks nearly perfect and the neck is straight. I do a lot of palm muting, so that stupid tailpiece has to go. I would like to put a Gibson Stop bridge on it. Could I do that and still leavve the Hag tailpiece, or would i need the complete Gibson Stop tailpiece/bridge.Even though I like Jumbo, or at least medium jumbo frets, ive decided not to mess wit the frets, as they are in nice shape, and actually the neck is very fast(fastest isn the world?) and I dont want to toy with it.

    I am in desperate search of a Swede bass case. If someone could provide me with a reference or a tip or a clue or anything at all I’d appreciate it more than I can say. I realize anyone with a Swede bass case probably has a Swede bass to go with it, and more than likely would not be looking to sell it. But there’s got to be SOMEONE with an old one laying around, right? I have posted in all kinds of message boards and emailed all kinds of sites. And not one response. It’s a wee bit frustrating. If anyone can help at all, I would be indebted.

    I’m looking for a Hagstrom lefty (I would also be interested in any left-handed euro guitar; like goya, eko, welson, etc). I’m mostly interested in a Hagstrom II or III, but any older Hagstrom will do. Please let me know if anyone has one for sale.

      I know this post is very old but perhaps there is still some interest.

      I am the only owner of a 1972 Hagstrom, Red, Left Handed, model H II N.
      The serial number seems to indicate it is the first of only 15 lefty’s made in 1972.

        i got one right hand. vintage hagstrom iii,black colour.3 coils ! it is in good condition i continue to play till todays .
        it looks like fender stratocaser with an ecxelled slim neck.i bought it in 1967 april. if there is a fun collector
        it might sel it but very expensive.

      Its an Kent PB-24-G made 1962, you have number 963 of 1000 made that year

      Hi Derek, I can’t tell you how many Futurama 11s were made, but just as a point of interest, the last one that I ever saw was the one that I bought in Newcastle upon Tyne England in 1964 for the sum of 26 pounds sterling!         hi, can anyone give me any information on the above guitar, model name, year of manufacture and possible value, I am cleaning it up for a friend of mine who purchased it in the early 60s, it as some minor dings but in whole it is in reasonable condition and is playable, the serial number on the 3 bolt neck plate reads 545212, thank you dave.

    I have my grandfather’s 12 string guitar… purchased possibly between 38 and maybe 44…the guitar has the hagstrom coat of arms…model #H33 serial#96978…wanting any info I can get on this one. I am not a musician and seem to be struggling with this. Would like to restore it. carol

      As far as I know Hagstrom only started making guitars in the late 50’s or early 60’s, previous to that they just made accordions. If you get ahold of one of the guys in Sweden, google for their site, they might give you the actual year yours was made, without buying their book for $20, as its encoded in the serial number, more likely your is late 60’s to 70’s, when they started making the H3’s.

        I am going to an auction tomorrow, 7/30/05, and there is a Hagstrom Viking II, red, forsale. I plan to buy it if I can. Contact me if you are interested. It is a 1960’s model according to the serial number.

Thanks, Jason Bailey ~~~ In response to this message, I have a cherry red Viking and a sunburst which are very similar to the guitar Elvis used in Jailhouse Rock in the ’68 tv special. Mine both have Bigsby tailpieces but do not have binding around the headstock, etc. The hardware is chrome. Both have original cases. I have no particular desire to sell them, especially the red one(it plays better although it has more wear). I would consider any offers. Also, I am not sure which continent you are on.   26. 12 string hagstrom

    i have what i believe to be a 60’s hagstrom 12 string electric guitar. i don’t know much about it or what it might be worth. it is made in sweeden and the only number i can find on it is 668028 any info would be appreciated.

        I have a 67 vintage, electric 4 string in excellent condition. I am not sure of the model, but the serial is a 67…. bass sunburst in color.

    I have a Model 80, I believe. The serial is #466-111. This guitar is in playable shape and looks very nice, but has a contour @ the bridge. It’s hard to believe that it is still so easy to fret?? Any information on the body top (contour)would be appreciated.
    Also, I have looked for information on this and can’t find much on four pick-up models??
