Sunbirst around sound hole, no pick guard, small barclay gold sticker on front top of head, i believe the numbers inside are 75 D26, which i was told means the guitar was made in 1976, dec 26. theres also a small made in japan sticker on the back of the neck. I do believe that it is older then 1975, just letting you know up front. Any ifno on this guitar or other photos would be apprieciated

I am seeking help, advice, information regarding a ‘Barclay’ guitar that I recently purchased as a second hand item. It is seemingly very difficult to obtain any information on the ‘Barclay’ brand, and so far have only found relative information on the ‘Harmony’ brand which apparently produces some of the ‘Barclay’ guitars under the same specifications (or vice versa ..??). However, after researching, the particular model I have seems to have no relation in the ‘Harmony’ brand, and so I must seek information specifically relating to ‘Barclay’.

The guitar’s main body appears to be the same shape and size as a modern 3/4 size classical guitar, and also has a Bridge which is familiar as a Nylon String bridge where the strings are looped and tied through the bridge. However, the tuning pegs are a steel (or metal) construction, rather than plastic or bone and are generally used on Steel String Guitars, the guitar body also has been fitted with a scratch plate, as is used on Steel String guitars, and the Neck is Steel Reinforced, which also suggests that the guitar may be designed as a Steel String.

The guitar seems to be constructed with a Spruce top, possibly Rosewood back and sides, with what appears to be a Maple Neck and Headstock. Inside on the back is stamped very simply ‘9121’, … with also a label with ‘Barclay Guitars’, ‘Japan’, and another reference number ‘301 S’. I am seeking any information regarding this specific model, concerning construction materials, year of manufacture, peculiarities, etc.

      Thank You.

My girlfriend has a Wasburn Guitar and she wants to know what year it is and a ballpark figure on its worth, and I was wondering about what it retailed for new. The inside of the guitar says George Washburn. Here is the serial #: 8805210 D12/N

    Thank You,
