Yairi Model AR352 Year 1983

Does anyone out there have any info on this type of Yairi. I have had this guitar for about 15 years and know nothing about (except that it sounds great).I have had a local guitar shop look for the Blue Book value but they came up with nothing. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yairi No 889 1965 B&M Soloist

Hello, and I hope to find out more about a guitar a friend bought for

neck is now detaching from the body so another friend (who builds
guitars) is going to fix it. Its marked inside the body as a

anyone know anything about this instrument. Its a lovely dark wood
with darker markings, and a small sound hole and S shaped end to the
fret board at the body end. (excuse my ignorance of guitars and even
music, im absolutely un-musical myself) What sort of wood would it be?

WY1

I've seen various comments and some adds on the internet listing the WY1 as having solid back and sides.
I have WY1 that was made in 2001. I can look inside the guitar and match various wood grain that appears on the outside. Is this possible with laminates?

Hi out there,

does anybody know this model. It's build in 1981. I couldn't find any information in the web. Would be great to find someone who can give me some information. I want to build a pick ups sytem to play the guitar on stage. What can you recommend? Thanks
Benedikt

DY - 58

I have a DY-58. Does anybody know what it would be worth? I purchased it new in 1981. Just curious as to what it would be worth. It does have a few battle scares but is in pretty good shape. The action on it is better than most electric guitars I have played.

DY-71 age

I have a DY-71 that I have up for sale, I thought that the woods were solid but have been told recently that the wood is a laminate... I was under the impression that is was solid Koa back and sides and a spruce or cedar top... however I can't verify it through the Alvarez website and don't know how to tell otherwise. It does not have a graphite bridge, I believe it is rosewood.
The other issue is that I don't know the age. Is there a way to tell by the ser#??
I bought the guitar used, it is in mint condition, and is a super sweet guitar to play. Like I said, I have it up for sale...but won't be sad if it doesn't sell either.

Re: DY-71 age

the dy71 was introduced in 1998 with an unusual shape graphite bridge, if this bridge is not on your instrument then it has been altered or your not reading the mod. num. correctly. the value on this instrument is around the 700 to 1000 dollar range depending on the condition.

If it's a DY71 it has a solid Spruce top, with laminated Koa back and sides. Made between 1991 and 1998 when it was discontinued. The bridge kind of resembled a sideways comma.

Bluebook info lists it as valued between $350 and $575 depending on condition. If it was made after 1992 the date will NOT be on the label, prior to that it would be. You can also check the numbers found on the heelblock to date it. If you still need the answer, send the number to me and I'll date it for you.

Re: k. Yairi YM1100 guitar info

Does your guitar have label ?
Is it CBS MASTERWORKS BY KAZUO YAIRI?

Re: k. Yairi YM1100 guitar info

Hello,
I am Japanese.
There were K.Yairi company and S.Yairi company in 1970s.
Perhaps YM1100 was made by Kazuo Yairi of K.Yairi company.
I want to see some pictures of it.
Please send me some.

Yairi B & M Concert AD 1975

I've had this classical guitar since I was 11 years old and it was brand new. The label inside Says B & M Concert, Hand Made By Yairi, Serial No. ,
AD 1975. Unfortunately either the serial No. was never there or has faded with time, I'm not sure, I never paid much attention to the label. Does anyone know what model it might be and if it is a good quality guitar? Many thanks, Steve

Re: Yairi B & M Concert AD 1975

Could be either of those, but, I would think if there is still writing that you can read on the label, then all the writing that was put on it, would be in the same condition~ so maybe they just didn't bother (or missed it) to put the serial number down?

IF Kazuo Yairi handmade the guitar, it should be a good one. Is your label 99% Japanese Kanjii? Or is it a combo of Kanjii and English?

If you could post (not even sure if that is possible here) a photo of the label, I might have a better chance at giving you more info on it.

Without anything else to go by, about all I can tell you is that the B & M, was Barnes and Mullins, exporters from London. And, just as K. Yairi now makes guitars for Alvarez (thus Alvarez-Yairi) earlier, he made them for B & M. The date of 1975 is cutting it rather close, because as far as I've been able to tell, it had to be 73 or 74 that Alvarez and Yairi joined ranks...course, I guess there's no reason he couldn't have had more than one deal going at the time. OR, your guitar was made by someone else for B & M? If I saw the label, I could tell you whether it was K. Yairi or not, by the artist authentication stamp (red stamp on label).

Goodluck~
yairiluvr

That's about all I can think of at the moment~
