Kent guitar

Hi all, I recently bought a Kent guitar model#530"Vegas" from the local pawn shop with the original case.It looks to me like it spent most of it's life in that case because there is pretty much no wear.Anyhow I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to the year of manufacture.Thanx.

K. Yairi DY-18 from 1977

Enybody knows if DY-18 made in 70's have solid or laminated mahogany back and sides?

Re: K. Yairi DY-18 from 1977

DY-18 is made by solid mahogany sides and back.
DY-28 is solid rosewood.
DY41 and DY45 are solid brazilian rosewood.

Re: K. Yairi DY-55 from 1980

: DY-55 is what?

Re: K. Yairi DY-18 from 1977

Sada Yairi 750 , S4459 - 1974

Does anyone out there have a Sada Yairi 750 - this model seem to be like hen's teeth !! Any info would be welcome .

Re: Sada Yairi 750 , S4459 - 1974

I have a Sada Yairi 750. I bought it in Thorold, Ontario about 35 years ago. I don't know much about it but have loved playing it. I was told it was a Japanese company. Did you find out anything about the company, value, history of it?

Original Yairi Value $$$ ???

Yesterday I brought my Yairi to a repair shop to have its lifted bridge repaired. When the guy saw the condition of my guitar he went nuts!! He said it was flawless condition and wanted to know its history. Story.... In 1969 I worked with a guy in CA who hand made guitars for Segovia"s students for concerts. My wife wanted me to have a "nice sounding" guitar for Christmas (1969) and asked my friend to select a good guitar for me from his collection. Apparently I have a pre Alvarez, hand made, signed and dated (1969), serial # 15, Yairi guitar in pristine condition.

The repair shop guy tried to look up the value of the guitar but his book only went back to early-mid '70's

Does anyone know where I can find out the value of this guitar?
TIA
Bob

Hi
I own a K Yairi model 352 and was curious what it was worth. The unit is 99.9% flawless. The year of manufacture of 1983. It has K.Yairi signature on the top. I'm not looking to get rid of it just curious what it might be worth some 22 years later??

DY84C

I am buying a new DY84C, I've been buying it for 4 and a half months now. St Louis has a bunch on backorder. I can't wait. It's spruce and indian rosewood and as the number implies, it's a cutaway electric. I was a little nervous to buy sight unseen, so my dealer(Buzzo Music - Geneseo NY) didn't take a deposit.
Any other DY84C's out there? I understand that laminated rosewood sounds better than solid with electrics. Is this true or is that just marketing

k.yari

i have a k.yari 1984, model WIS Left Hand for sale, what price?

DY-73

I have a DY-73 Alverez Yari manufactured in 1985. The guitar is in perfect condition. It was given to me years ago by a relative. I am not interested in selling but was curious as to its approximate value.

Re: DY-73

I also have one in perfect condition, made in 1985. Check ebay. That is the only time i've seen one for sale. I don't think they made very many of them.

Yairi types. Help Help

I have had several alvarez's, and would like to move up to a Yairi.
What is comparabale to a D-28, a D45 Martin. I see lots of reviews, but not sure if they know their stuff. Would be interested in DY 90 or DY96 maybe. What is the quality rating of the Yairi, can you tell anything by the number. Where can I go for more complete Yairi info?

Thanks, Arnold

Info on a 1966 B&M soloist

What is the difference between this guitar and a k Yairi? The serial #is 120, hand-written as is the date etc. Any idea how much it might be worth? I'm not thinking to sell, but I feel I may have got a bargain. It is a bit rough, but plays beautifully and will look perfect when I've got it all cleaned up. Any help?

Limited Edition CY-115 (#44 of 600)

I am the proud owner of a 1978/1979 CY-115, serial number 28022, #44 of 600. I am very interested in determining its value, only to satisty my curiousity. I bought from my classical instructor, and it was his first good classical ( his words). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Limited Edition CY-115 (#44 of 600)

Oops. I meant that they are selling the model CY116 for sale today. for 1600.00$

Re: Limited Edition CY-115 (#44 of 600)

I have #278/600. I looked at a web site the other day and they are selling the model CY 115 from today for 1600.00$. I bought mine for $600 in 1980.

Re: Limited Edition CY-115 (#44 of 600)

: I have #47/600, 1978. I acquired it for $300.00 in 1979 from a 1st Lt in the US Army who was moving up in his classical training to some version of a Khono. It has been pristinely in it's hardcase since, although I have begun playing it lately learning a Fl!p Breskin arrangement of an Andy Cutting tune titled FlatWorld. I got many comments tonight after playing it at an open mike about how wonderful the guitar sounds. Someone needs to bee keeping a roster of owners. These are indeed special guitars.

I called Alvarez directly and was told that they could not determine after-market value of one of their own instruments. They did, however, tell me to contact Gruhn Guitars in Nashville, TN and get an appraisal. I was told he is widely considered to be the international expert at pricing rare vintage instruments. $50 for the appraisal service, done via internet w/ digital photos of instrument and serial #'s. I am going to have mine appraised soon. I will post a follow up so we will all finally know what these outstanding guitars are really worth. Maybe then we can start that club...
