: Hello, and I hope to find out more about a guitar a friend bought for
: 10 from a car boot sale a few years ago. Its a bit battered and the
: neck is now detaching from the body so another friend (who builds
: guitars) is going to fix it. Its marked inside the body as a

: B&M Soloist
: Yairi
: No 889
: AD 1965
: Japan

: anyone know anything about this instrument. Its a lovely dark wood
: with darker markings, and a small sound hole and S shaped end to the
: fret board at the body end. (excuse my ignorance of guitars and even
: music, im absolutely un-musical myself) What sort of wood would it be?

This is a Sadao Yairi model, not Kazuo~ without seeing it I can't be sure, but most likely it has a spruce top and mahogany back and sides.
