I have a model 5047 alvarez. You will find a lot of folks that seem to know a lot about them . All I can tell you is that there are several variations of this model . Some have mahogany back and sides with laminated tops. Others, maybe to do with the year it was made,have meadowlark rosewood for same, and "solid" spruce tops . Some have truss adjustments from head end , whereas others are adjusted from under soundhole. My model 1982 is the rosewood member with solid top. Now these have been created in the famous Japanese factories that only produce copies by HAND . I wouldn't sell mine for any price because of the way it plays and sounds. But I will say they sometimes sell for around $200.00 on E-bay .A very good price depending on materials used....hence the year dated. Hope this helped.
