Levin - how to tell whether it's original?

Posted by Lukas on Sat, 09/15/07 - 08:48:04.

Hi
In the eighties I bought a guitar "labled" Levin Model LG13 with a serial number on a sticker inside. The number is 531365.
How can I tell it's an original or not?
Thanks
Lukas

Levin LN 26

I have a Levin Goliath which I bought second hand in about 1972. According to the serial no it's 1968. Any idea on value? Condition is used, ie not mint but not beaten up.

Re: Levin - how to tell whether it's original?

Lucas,

Why should You be in doubt that it is an original?
The LG13 is a medium to low level classical guitar in solid woods. It is most famous for being in the movie Sound of Music, strummed by Julie Andrews. It was really a Goya G-13, but it is the same guitar.
The number indicates that it is made 1974.
