I traded with a friend for mine. It’s been modified to be an acoustic electric, but i mainly use it un-amped. I traded a Martin and Co with a snapped truss rod, (and a VERY bowed, unfixable neck because of it) and an additional 60 bucks for this GEM of an acoustic guitar.

Many of my friends have much more expensive acoustics, most of which sound half as full and powerful as my Cimar. The thing is great. It has such naturally warm tones.

I too am trying to find pricing info, just because I’m curious about what it costs new. I’d never get rid of this thing for almost any amount of money, as i’ve never actually seen another one before, so i assume they’re hard to replace. something on it would have to break to a point where it was unplayable before i sold this or gave it away.

          Hi Stephen
It is made by Cimar in the mid 70s in either Japan or China and then the company was sold to Ibanez they focused on electric and did not patent the shape hence the shape is Gibson now so our guitars are rare. the cost to buy one was around 150.00 then and now the should be priced about the price of a Gibson as they have the same quality of sound. I have one too it is a beautiful guitar… I wont take it out of the house as i am afraid it will get broken… treat it well… Loretta in Canada

Any idea on the price for one of these? Seems to be well made.

      1. Cimar CW 300
        Andy

Just found one of these online for around 69.00 including a nice/newer padded Fender gig bag. Based on what has been said here, I’m excited to get it up and playing. Needs a bath, and new strings. Great condition and the action looks awesome (missing a few strings now). Only con, the pickguard seems thin (not defective). Been selling off some of my guitars, but if it’s what you all say, seems I’ll have another keeper.I’ll post again.

(If this sounds familiar, when I posted 1st time, it seems it did not work – sorry if redundant.)

I just picked one of these up for$68.00 (with shipping) and includes a nice/much newer Fender padded gig bag. Very excited to get it up and running. Looks to be in terrific condition, but definitely needs a bath. Seems to be great quality… except for pickguard which seems thin (but not damaged). I’ll post again when she’s good to go.

  1. Aria acoustic guitar
    Therese Crayton-Ackley

My sister’s old Aria model A-586 acoustic guitar needs to be appraised for probate. It has a 6- steel string configuration , although the headstock is a classical setup. I’m not sure of the woods, but I beleive it to be spruce top with rosewood neck. It has been stored in it’s hard case. One machine head screw is broken. It was played exclusively for folk style finger picking. Do any members want to guess at it’s worth.

  2. mayco
