I Christopher Woods am custom guitar builder located in covina, ca. I started out making replica guitars such as the Steve Vai Flame. I am currently offering guitars on a you dream it – I build it basis. I have my own model bvd bass line which is among the finest basses you will play. I also offer a photo update of the guitars on order so you can see the creation of your instrument from raw lumber to finish.

i saw you red steve vai vine inlay with red LED lights and wondering if you sold it. if so how much and if you sell outside your store, how much would shipping be.

I found this "luthier" in an internet search by accident when looking for a custom guitar builder. Although he seems like a pretty nice guy, his workmanship is horrible. Any monkey with a bandsaw and a sander could keep right up with him, and probably even deliver a finished product alot faster. It took him well over a year to finish mine. I was NOT happy with the end result to say the least. I’m even embarrassed enough that only a few people have seen the guitar. I’d rather not advertise for him. I see he now has a CNC machine. I believe he had to go this route because his "by hand" work was nothing to speak of… I’ll never bother with the guy again and all my guitar playing friends that saw my finished product and will not do business with him either.
I would place an order but he isnt finishing any of the work he has.
Took 9 months for a simple fretboard.
Christopher woods is an ex Gibson Luthier, and an outstanding Craftsman, who will not sacrifice time against the quality of his work! If he is good enough to build guitars for Steve Vai, then he is certainly good enough to build them for the rest of us!

Uh hey dummy Woods never built a guitar for Steve Vai plus he takes up to a year after given a 3 week quote. Very uncool for us working musicians…….

I ordered a custom Strat body from this guy (Christopher Woods) – he took a $95.00 deposit and led me along with emails for about a year, then stopped answering my emails, even though he is still advertising for business on his web site. Don’t order from this guy – he rips people off!

i saw one of your steve vai guitars on ebay, with the bloodwood top. I am very interested in buying 1 or two bodies. Id like to see what else you have to offer, but i cant find anywhere to look.
