Kevin – is this a retro-looking Hofner knock-off? I had one in the early 70’s. Not worth a lot at the time – I bought mine for $35 in 1969, sold it in 1974 for the same price, in Michigan. I’m trying to track that old bass down, if possible, for a repurchase.

I also have a fandel base. It is black with a white pick guard, Hollow body. It has nylon covered strings, set up to sound like an up-write acoustic. It is in mint condition. I use it alot. I’ld like to know what it is worth.

I played a Fandel bass some some 30 years ago; sold it during my college years to pay tuition. It was designed to look a lot like the Hofner. Are you interested in selling this bass?

We were recently given an old Fandel electric bass guitar and wanted to find out more information about it. The guitar is in excellent condition to look at and very retro, but when plugged in doesn’t do anything. It even has its original cord and custom shaped case. We tried it in our bass amp, and also with a new cable, but no sound.
