Dobro Suggestions?

I'm considering taking up the dobro. Can anyone suggest a decent entry-level brand/model? What about self-teaching resources? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
God bless.

Re: Dobro Suggestions?

: I've been playing slide for over 30 years and just purchased a Fender Resophonic and love it I'm going to do about 150.00 dollars worth of changes and it should suffice most semi-pro slide players and most pro's. If you'd like some help just e-mail me.

EKO acoustic

I see that others have questions about them, too, so I thought I would pile on. I just inherited an EKO model E85 (the label inside the body has that stamped on it) that is at least 20 years old, and it is in decent condition. It sounds nice enough, but the cosmetics are lacking. It originally had two pickguards, but both are missing. Any idea how I can replace them? I'm not too hopeful. Also, anyone ever heard of this model and have more information as to how to have it appraised?
Thanks very much, and God bless.

Vantage Guitars - are they no longer making guitars?

I have a "strat" copy, made by Vantage in the late 70's or early 80's. It was made with a one piece neck through the body with all brass hardware. The saddles are starting to wear out (no kidding!) and I would like to replace them with the original equipment if possible. Anybody have any ideas? I haven't had much luck getting any answers so far. Thanks in advance.

i have a vantage avenger x-77

i have one pots and switch need work and paint in fais condition pickups works perfectly but wanted to know if any buyers

about this weird vntage guitar I own

I own a black and white vantage guitar.........no idea what year, what model, original price. I bought it cheap off a friend who wanted to get rid of it. His uncle gave it to him. The strange thing about it is that someone signed it in gold permanent ink, an i can't tell what the name is. I doubt it's worth anything but there is that slight chance. Really, this thing is a piece of junk, the pickups and plug are falling apart and its nicked up a little. It sounds terrible. I don't know what I've got on my hands an just hoping anyone can give me any info about where to get more info on vantages.... -Jordan

vantage electric guitar problem

HI THERE! I'VE GOT ONE VANTAGE GUITAR AND IT SEEMS IT HAS A PROBLEM: WHENEVER I'M NOT TOUCHING ITS METAL PARTS( STRINGS, TREMOLLO, KEYS A.S.O.) IT MAKES A BROOM SOUND.WHEN I TOUCH THE STRINGS OR THE TREMOLLO THE BROOM IS NO LONGER THERE. I TRIED TO OPEN THE GUITAR TO SEE IF THE CABLES INSIDE IT ARE ALRIGHT AND THEY ARE. WHAT IS THERE TO BE DONE. HELP ME OUT HERE... THANKS\!

Re: vantage electric guitar problem

The problem is either in the jack(as stated in another reply) or, your amp or part of the speaker set up for it (if you dont have a combined amp) has a bad ground connection. Try the guitar in another amp.

Re: vantage electric guitar problem

sounds like you have a bad ground somewhere. most grounds go to the vol. pot. check what metal parts stop the noise when touched. its probably a bad ground on the jack or switch. if the strings also stop the noise when touched, then the bridge needs to be grounded. its actualy simple to fix.

Re: vantage electric guitar problem

about that ground thing.. my guitar does the oppisite. the guitar isnt noisy UNTILL i touch the strings. what does that mean?

Zero Sette Guitar

In the middle sixties I had an 1/2 aukustic red electric guitar with the name Zero Sette. It was like a Gibson Es 330-335. It didnt cost much and i think ist was made in Italy. I have searched everywere to find one again for nostalgic reasons. have anyone heard or no if there is some information about it or better has someone to sell to me, I´ll be glad.

Re: Zero Sette Guitar

Hi there, I´ve got a red Zero Sette that you wrote about.
I found it at a second hand market in stockholm, and it costed me 400 swedish kronor.

The tailpice and pickguard is missing, and the microfones aren´t so good either. I´m not planning on selling this one,
but if you give me an offer I can´t refuse....

EKO Guitar

My father has an electric EKO guitar, that is at least 50 years old and sounds great!! It has a marking on the neck that says"Made in Italy" It is a shimmery silver color with a few buttons with numbers and a volume control knob and one other knob. I wonder if any one would have an idea of what it is worth? Although I could never imagine him parting with it... thanks

Eko's were made in Italy in the 60's. Your fathers' guitar is definitely not 50 years old, for several reasons. One being that the first electric guitars were just beginning to be produced about fifty years ago by Fender. Second, Eko's just aren't that old. I've heard that there are some Eko collectors, but I don't know where any of them are. I wish that I did, I have an Eko 12-string acoustic that has what is apparently a factory-fitted pickup in the soundhole. At any rate, Eko aren't worth a fortune or anything, so don't get too excited. Hope that this helps.

I don't know the year and I can't find any serial number. Is it a piece of junk? Please email me if you have any info about it. email: patoonya77@hotmail.com thanks

I have a Crown Professional too. It was made in Japan. I have no idea what it is worth. The sound quality appears to be good...not great but good. I would also like some info on this guitar.

Sedona Guitars 12-string acoustic ???

Has anyone ever heard of this company? I have a feeling that Sedona may be part of Sebring, but I am not sure. I just acquired this acoustic 12-string and the thing sounds pretty good, but I need to get some part info. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
