Eric C. Brown Custom Guitars

Eric C. Brown used to make vintage custom guitars at affordable prices along with B & G bender systems. “Maine Made, World Played”.

He still does this kind of work, but now he works for New England Custom Guitars

I’d like to have my ’74 Gibson Ripper Bass restored. Bridge is bent. D string breaking often (as a result of bridge damage?) One of the machine screws fell off ages ago and needs replacement. You can probably diagnose other stuff. I’ll state this: The pickups and electronics appear stable. Are you willing/able to take this on? I invoke the Spirit of Working Class! If not, can you steer me to someone available with your skills? BTW: Great to see the band prosper so well. Let me know, thanks!

Stinar claims he did not receive his $300.00 lapsteel. I scanned the copies of US Postal Service slip. This has now shown up 10 years later, it was stolen oversees. His claim 5 years later that I mis-used his name was the fault of the small news paper, they retracted. Very aggressive attack for $300.00
: : I hope Mr. Brown will let us know when he has cleaned up this mess. It would be a shame for the steel guitar community to get left with such an ugly picture.

: Eric Brown is risking his entire career by failing to deliver a pre-paid instrument. Quite a shame. Buyers Beware!

I just recently purchased an Eric Brown telecaster style and I love it! I’ve been playing clubs and doing studio work for the past 20 years and I’ve owned an embarrassing amount of guitars. I’ve found a lot of guitars to be devoid of personality. This is not the case with this one, first of all it’s got a really organic look and feel to it, like an old tele. Eric had some guitars in his shop that had gold hardware and real high-falootin finishes, but this one had hardly any finish at all, wich I loved and the thing sounds great! Eric was kind enough to let me take it to a gig and I just could’nt give it back. This guitar really reminds me of some of the old Fenders I’ve had except that it plays alot slinkier and more in tune. I love it

        Hey Jorma –
I just found out about this guy today. I phoned him, went to his house to discuss some work he would be doing on my Nash Strat. This guy is the real deal – friendly, knowledgeable, great attitude, wow! I looked over his stock of guitars – quality work, reasonable prices. I can’t believe he’s in my own back yard and I’m just finding out about him now! I only wish I’d discovered him sooner…. I’d be happy to supply any info to anybody interested in his guitars. I am considering a custom Rosewood Tele.
