When I was at Graceland, I saw Elvis’s Country Gent & took a photo of it. I noticed that the serial number tag was visible. Has anyone out there ever recorded this serial number? It looks exactly like mine.

Did you every find a schematic. I’m in the same boat you are though my tech was able to find close ones from Supros and Nationals from the time. I have a 65 6166 fury that is the best amp I’ve owned to date and gig with it all the time.

Does anyone out there have a photo of the Malcom Young Signature in Flame Maple?

The serial number on the back of the headstock is T57973 put on a metal plate. And it says Kluson Deluxe on the tuners. This probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for but – I am not usually an advocate of reissues but I just purchased a new reissued Country Gentleman and it is fantastic. Better than any original I’ve ever played. If you’re looking for a vintage investment – no. If you’re looking to play it – yes.

i think i might have had some luck. i have a guitar that has the words " Gretsch 75 " engraved in a perloid inlay on the headstock. i found out , by the serial number beign printed in ink inside the soundhole that it was made in 1949. it is prewar/war era manugactured. and may or may not be a sierra model. if this sounds like your guitar it’d be great if you email me back and tell me if it is a flat top or an arch top. im just beginning and i dont know how to tell the difference.

My gretsch fits the description said to appear in the book, with double horns and clear plastic pick guard. Maybe the book will tell more, but I’ve yet to check it out. I’ve seen a couple for sale for about $500. Please let me know if you have found any more info. Thanks.
Very rare guitar. I’ve searched everywhere for info on this guitar, but it is nearly non existent. Only scan info is available. I have learned that they were built (both one horn and two horn models) from 1976 to early 1981. The serial number will be on a slip inside the plastic cover on the back of the guitar (in the cavity). If you are lucky enough to find a Gretsch Committee, expect and be prepared to pay dearly for it. There aren’t many in existance and the owners that do have one aren’t about to part with it even though they look somewhat plain.
I have a 1920 or 1930’s Gretsch lap guitar w/ wood body w/ steel resonator. The only numbers I found on it are the patentnumber that is on the resonator 1,896,494 Any info on this would be helpful. I got it from my Aunt whogot it when she was 6 or 7 and that was in the thirties, and she got it used. The guitar is in very good condition. Please help!!!

I would like the current price of a Gretch country gentleman. This was purchased by me in 1965 and is in about mint condition. This instrument was treated like a baby and rarely played.
i have a lefty gretch which i ordered custom made in about 1967-68.

I received a Synchromatic acoustic from a relative recently. He said he bought it in the 30’s before he went to war. He claims he bought it around 1935/36. According to the research I have found, Gretsch didnt manufacture this guitar until 1939? The serial number on the guitar is (2648). Again according to my research this would put the production of this instrument to February 1936. This doesn’t jive with the history production dates for the Synchromatic’s?
Any theories or answers would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 1979 Gretsch Country Club, Natural Finish, Gold Hardware, Bigsby, 2 PU’s. The question I have is the Pick-ups are a Filter-tron and what appears to be a Super-tron. Is this correct?
