i found my grandpa's asco guitar and remember playing with it when i was a kid. i've never heard of asco. can anyone tell me where it was made or what year they made it? it has a model # but it's written in pen and i can't quite read it. i think it would have to be about 30 or more years old.

Hi. I have no idea whether you'll see this, but i've found out that 3167 is the model number, not the serial number, as I have one which is 3167 as well. The Rodeo 12 (the 12 string version) was 3168.

My shaftesbury 12 string electric, has the look of a ricky,!!!! but it has aplate on the back clearly saying is was made in Japan as opposed to the general idea that they were made in Italy - does anyone know when the manufacture was changed?
The guitar is still brilliant and I would think made in the early 70s, would download a photo but do not know how?

iv had one since the 60s still playing it the only diferance is i changed the pickups to humbackers and fitted a bigsby lewis (email me and il send some photos)

I have a Shaftesbury Les Paul Gold Top bought around 1971. Gigged for about 20yrs it still looks and plays like new, maybe even better. The sales person where I bought it (Kingfisher in Fleet Hants.) said it was one of a few released before Gibson made them make some changes to the headstock because it was too close to the original, was this true or was it sales pitch? What would todays value be? Any help would be much appreciated

I am now the proud owner of Shaftesbury 12 String Ricky type, excellent condition perhaps 25 years old, and sounds just as good as they did in the 70s when I always played one.
