Hello!
I'm also the proud owner of an old "ARTIST - Hand Made Expressly for the R.S.Williams and Sons Co Ltd by Arthur Hensel" gitar that my mother got for her confirmation ca.1943-5 in Iceland. It's a small guitar with "ARTIST HENSEL" carved into the headboard. It had a beautiful surprisingly big sound for its size. Sadly it was ravaged by Icelandic frost and thaw when it was left in the family's country home for a winter or two. Hopefully not beyond repair tho! It would be great to know more about this instrument that has brought a lot of joy to a few generations.

my dads guitar has been passed on to my daughter, it is an old guitar, carved minerva and hensel, inside label says hand made expressly for rs williams and sons ltd , authur hensel.... finding a lot of different information out there... anyone know the value of the guitar?

Hi
I just got an "Artist Hensel" rebuilt. My mother got it when she was sixteen years old, that would have been 1942 0r 1943. over the years it had suffered rather badly, and at one point the entire back was smashed out, I recovered it from her attic. I found a music store that took it and fully rebuilt it to near new condition. It has an unusually full and rich sound for such a small Guitar.
Part of the rebuild was to leave the scratches and marks on the front of the guitar while restoring it, they made an outstanding job, and the finished product was aell worth the money and wait.

Hi, I also have one of these guitars now, my grandfather had it durring WW2. it says its handmade on the inside, its a Hansel Minerva. But mine like yours is in rough shape, needs a new nut and a couple of tunning pegs.....If you dont mind me asking how much did your restoration cost?, and do you have an idea of what the value might be?, any info will be helpfull....thanks for your time , Clint. :)
