Serial No. 6060 is actually 1060, since the Ventures bass started out with serial No. 5000. I think that would make it a '63 or a'64 at the latest.
I have serial No. 5036,( I bought it new in 1963) which is also a single pickup model. a few years ago, I took it to Bill Gruggett in Bakersfield, who was the master luthier at Mosrite, when the Ventures models were in production, and he commented that they did not make very many single pickup basses.
If you google "Bill Gruggett guitars", you will get his website, and I can assure you that there is no better authority than him to tell you anything you want to know about your bass.
